I still can't figure out why the owner went to the press...the only thing it did for me is bring out the fact that countless other people have had billing problems at that restaurant and what before seemed like a place on the list of "special evenings out" now resides on the "avoid like the plague" list....and i am sure that is the case with many people.

I don't really get the whole fuss surrounding this story. I heard the Oilers PR release of their side of it and I heard the media story of the restaurants owners side of it.

Only thing I realyl understood is that the Oilers thought the cheque was bogus and Moreau along with whoever else basically told them they should be paying for the alcohol by the bottle and not by the shot as they consumed x amount of shots that used op x amount of bottles. Seems pretty fair to me.

But like were the cops actually called or was that some media fabrication? Sounds to me that this restaurant owner was just trying to make a big media story against the Oilers for obvious reasons.

Then why would they fight over returning a bottle they had already drank out of? Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmm......

the owner asked the globe and mail for a $1000 for an interview and already stated he had talked to a TV station as well about doing an exclusive in return for ca$h....

So now when you say fight are you turning into a media outlet and actually mean fight like some fists were thrown or do you mean fight as in a verbal disagreement?

Like I said I have only read two different stories but from what they out in the media you can never gauge what is correct. Alot of bs is thrown around.

Is there a link to the original thread as I can't seem to find it.

There you go. I only got through about half of it. My most intereting points I walk away with:
-the Flames had this situation there last year (speculation but I believe it)
-The owner is selling the story, literally
-The Oilers paid the bill the restaurant gave them

Yes it is half way down the page. I mean verbal disagreement. If there was a physical fight police would have been called. Obviously the owner/manager is a d-bag, but the whole incident doesnt pass the sniff test for me. I can see the arrogance that is displayed in interviews spilling over into real life here. I would say there is no innocent party here.

Exactly and this is the dumbest of everything cause it says that they pay the revised bill that was given to them and added a $2000 tip or at least that is what TSN said.

As Liquor said both sides are likely at fault, but at the same time if a business owner pisses me off of course I am gonna be a ****** bag right back to them. But of course to the average person they are all gonna see it as a bunch of arrogant millionaire hockey players not paying their tab and fussing over a couple thousand.

i just think its hilarious that people pay these total losers enough to spend money like that. go party after you suck ass on the ice. how about give money back to the fans instead of spending close to 8 grand on booze. that could buy 1000 free beers at Rexall i hear. what a deal.

hmm, I'm having audio issues with the link though, its playing the audio twice, with a bit of a delay... don't know if that makes sense, but it could be that the internet is getting wackier here at my office.
