IMO the 4th and 5th were his fault.

He sat on an island outside of the net after the initial save on the first one.

Then another huge rebound led to the 5th.

Who cares? This team's a joke.

If possible...anyone still watching the thrashers needs to switch to the USA-Canada WJC game. This is good stuff.

We've now allowed 4 or more goals 8 times just on this 9 game losing streak alone. Heck, our last win was a 6-5 win against Dallas. Even when we win we manage to allow 5 goals.

Ugh.

Whatever happened to mounting a comeback in the 3rd? More often than not these days we just go out on a whimper in the 3rd.

We'll see how these next 4 games go. If nothing improves and Kovy isn't re-signed or has been traded, then something will have to change.

Problem is that this team was built for his system. There are still a lot of games to play.

I knew it was going to get ugly if we did not get the first goal after that excellent first period.

This team cannot buy a break right now. Bad bounces against us, lucky bounces for the other team.

This season is starting to smell like toast.

you know he gives rebounds. i know he gives rebounds. everyone on the team knows he gives rebounds. he needs work on that, yes, but the players should know that they need to be there to clear out these wide open pucks.

Something needs to happen to get this team going. I am fully on the Lehtonen bandwagon. I am pulling people on. Maybe he can be the spark the team needs.

We'll better start rebuilding right this moment. If they were "built" for his phony system then they would be winning games.

10 in a row has to be the breaking point, I don't care if this team was built for his system. Are you saying players like Antropov, Afingenov that was brought in can't play in another system? If the Thrashers lose to the Rangers, John Anderson must go.

Go away for a New Years holiday and have to come back to this crap.

Stinker of a Boston game (Boston being Kryptonite for Pavelec - 3 starts career and they're all horrendous). Check.
Give up 3 goal lead and lose to Buffalo in OT. Check.
Claw the way back into the game and then lose to Islanders in OT. Check.

Now I figure they can be fired up to get past an 8 game losing streak......and it isn't even close.

Gee...... another loss.

____

Don't even have the energy or willpower to watch the games anymore.

Is Lehtonen coming back anytime soon? As a fan my confidence in Pavelec is back at it's all time low, back down to where it was in pre-season. His flashes of brilliances early in the season sure got me, but teams are now eating up the rebound machine.

I agree. One of the things I liked about Pavs early were the number of gloves saves he made. Lehts gave up a lot of rebounds but was better at recovering.

I don't know if its the defense not adapting slightly to pick out the rebounds better or what... but teams have figured Pavelec out as this season has progressed.

So that's Pavelec's 8th start in a row where he has given up 4+ goals or been pulled. Super. Not to say everyone else doesn't suck as well, but he's one of the worst.

First goal he gave up was amazing- lifts his leg for NO reason, watches it slide under his pad. Literally no reason- if he thinks it's high he'd bring his glove up, shoulder shrug, who knows. If he thinks it's going the other way he slides over. Instead he sits completely still and lifts his pad off the freaking ice for no ****ing reason and the puck slides under it harmlessly. Frustrating to watch.

The illusion that everything would be okay earlier this season was pretty cruel, the talent on this team disappeared over night. It was like God gifted the Thrashers with the ability to score 5 goals at will, then the next day they woke up and it was a dream.
