Sekera is already unjustly riding the pine and Weber is in Portland so depth is ok, and of course they still have Paetsch if he clears.

I doubt there's a trade already but now wouldn't be a bad time to start looking at them, because the deadline is shortly after the Olympic trade freeze comes off.
Maybe, but the Sabres would gain less from him being up in the NHL. Mancari has no NHL future.

I don't necessarily disagree, and I'd rather see Gerbe or Ennis in the game. However, if the plan isn't to bring up a guy to play every day but rather bring up a forward to replace Paetsch's role as the pressbox forward, Mancari is a better choice. I want Gerbe and Ennis playing either way, whereas Mancari's career won't suffer as much in that role.

I believe "straightening out Vanek" means motivating him/etc. Now that we can bring a Gerbe or Ennis up, Ruff may be more prone to slapping Vanek on the 4th line or benching him for a game or two. I'm pretty sure that's what the guy meant.

Yes. I can't remember the last time Ruff has had the ability to sit out one of his stars.

Hopefully a Gerbe/Ennis call up for the long hall like everyone else has said. This has been a long time coming, no offense to Nathan who took his role on the team like a champ.

I'm a fan of the Sabres on facebook and saw this on my updates and I find it hilarious that people were freaking out over this. Someone literally posted this comment "I vote Darcy Regier gets the boot and Buffalo gets a new GM because all he has been doing is destroying the sabres team."

I didnt know waiving Paetsch meant the team would implode, but on a more serious note I hope he'll stay down in Portland. He's versatile and works hard, but he doesn't really do much else. I'd rather have McCormick, Gerbe, Ennis, or even Cowan play than Paetsch.

I think all this talk about Regier somehow having a change of heart and starting to utilize the waiver wire more is silly.

Wgr says "they've likened this to the Mair maneuver" - which they really haven't totally explained yet (to my liking )

Very Surprised that he waived Nate but it was the best option for the team
on my nhl '10 be a gm i traded poms and gragnani to the wild for zidlicky and clutterbuck. zidlicky has been a great qb for the powerplay, and my 4th line is goose, kaleta, and clutterbuck.

Paetsch for Kovalchuk, straight up. It could happen. I'll go put something up on the Proposals board.

What you didn't know Np is the one that laces up the skates for all the players. I mean if he isn't doing it you can bet that our guys' skates will be coming off...Very Important part of the team...

And not surprisingly, he's cleared and still up with the team. This seems just like the Mair situation.
