There is not hope of finishing out of the playoffs for a true habfan./

Having played some sports at a high enough level, I can tell you this is worst than finishing last overall.

I beleive Canada's loss can be blamed solely on Carey Price.

I just don't want us to finish in no man's land (9th-10th, Leafs land if you prefer). The best scenario would be to make the playoffs, but if we're falling, I want us to fall bad enough to have a good draft pick.

There's no way Price can be blamed for this lost. The team was brutally outshot and outplayed.

However... for whatever reason, the Habs seem to play better in front of Halak. Some would argue (and perhaps correctly) that it's because Price has faced stiffer competition than Halak, but even so... I'd like to test that theory. Give Halak some starts against some of the league's better teams and let him sink or swim.

In any event, we probably should try Halak next game.

I mentioned this before, but that would make sense as Florida is a non playoff team, which is 9-0 against, if it ain't broke why fix it

Also Halak has had eight starts against top end competition, he's 2-6 with GAA well north of 3

The only bright spots tonight is that Kristo played pretty well for Team USA, and Pouliot had another goal and played well for us.

At least we have a couple bright spots amongst our younger players shining tonight.

seriously guys, can pacioretty and dagostini suck more than they do now, pacioretty kills the duo pleks - cams, wich so far are missing big time andrei k... pacioretty has no idea what to do with the puck, ship him to the dogs asap..

this team struggles, and we are soooooo soooooo weak, even Moen is no more physical or didnt drop the gloves since game 1 if i am not wrong.

Pacioretty brings close to nothing to the table right now.

Can he play in the NHL? Sure.
Is it good for his confidence and development? Hell no.
Is he bringing something to this team White and other AHLers can't? Not that much.

Both Kostitsyn are top-6 material, either permanent (AK) or depth top-6 guys (SK). Pacioretty's not. Generates nothing offensively and struggles to make an impression.

Their were several instances where he made a routine save and got up and looked like he was mad or frustrated about being shot against.

On the 4th goal (Semin slapshot), he gave Spacek a stare down!

I know that we are being outshot all the time and that we are not playing well in our defensive zone, however, give me a break! Have a better attitude than that. I am a Price supporter and will always be, but this attitude and ego is getting to me.

Benoit Brunet even said: ''Les jouers l'aime pas les geste comme ca''
The feeling I get, is that he(Price) has the exact same attitude as his many supporters here...NOTHING is ever his fault.

Well, team is back to stinking 5-on-5 I see.

I really wish someone would man up and ask Martin why he's coaching one of the worst even-strength teams in the league and what he feels needs to be done to remedy that -- and not accept platitudes like "shoot more" (need the puck first). Or his inane mantra of special teams and goaltending, which is basically admitting his team stinks 5-on-5. Saying that special teams and goaltending decide games is basically code for "hang on for dear life, hope our goalie saves our ***** and we score on the power play".

The Habs are the weakest team in the league in the first period, have a weak five-on-five scheme (collapsing defense, clear up the boards, no transition, concede every zone), have the worst penalty differential in the league by far, and do not perform to the level their talent level would suggest.

Explain to me again why I'm supposed to feel this is a well-coached team?

In 77 games combined Pacioretty and Lapierre have a grand total of 5 goals mainly form the 3rd line.

This is friggin pathetic. Waive Lapierre and Send Pacs to the minors ASAP.

Lapierre sucked without his ferry friend Latendresse and has sucked even worse since he left.

Price his not to blame for this loss has we were badly outshot and outchanced again.

Either Matin is an idiot or we simply do not have the players to play the preffered system.

Either way Gainey has got to be responsible for this lack of depth.

Halak to the rescue again.
