Id try JVR in place of Harntell....I think he could do more with his skillset on that line and produce more than what Harntnell could. Also, it would keep momentum on that line....not choke it with a dumb penalty Harntell has been notorious for doing. Put Hartnell down on 3rd line with Powe and Asham...that would make that a real gritty line....

He played for the Caps after the Bruins. Then came back in a reserve role starting with 1989.

Interesting, he's really the only early 80s Flyers goalie I know, don't really know anything about him outside that he won the Vezina a year or two after he moved on.

He was the Oilers' goalie coach up until this season.

Just got back from the game. What a ridiculous sideshow that went on during it. Around 6 people got ejected for fighting (and of course EVERYONE in front of me had to stand and watch it so I couldn't see a lot of the game.) That and did anyone else see Hartnell whack the kid's hand who tried to give him a high five when he left the game? Wow, Scott. I know he probably didn't mean it but what an idiot.

They had some pretty good goaltending performances the past few years too, interesting that we didn't pursue the "Former Flyers goalie becomes goaltending coach" route with him after Lemelin left.

Seems like he had a really interesting career, maybe somebody who could never quite tap into his full potential for a few years straight to really establish himself.

He started his career 22-0-5 though! Even with the Flyers unbeaten streak, that's pretty impressive.

There was a bizarre rumor intimated in the retrospective article/link provided above. I will not go into details. I was surprised when he returned as a player but he got his act together over time.

I don't recall if he was still under contract with Edmonton this past summer when the Lemelin switch to Jeff Reese was made. Bill Barber was with Reese in 2004 when Tampa Bay won, so maybe Barber was influential in that choice.

Same man. If there was any game to go see this year it was this one. Utter domination.

I had Pronger, Briere, Stajan, Ponikarovsky, Kaberle, and Hagman on my fantasy team so this was an extremely big night for me.

Absolutely. The atmosphere was great too. SOOOO many Leafs fans got kicked out of one section. A few crowd fights. Bunch of fights in the game as well. Just one of the best all around games I have been to.

Congrats to Danny BTW on career point 500.

He sweat a lot. I remember that from when I was a kid...they'd always talk about how much he sweat into his pads.

Was at the game. It was SOOOO loud. It was even louder when Danny got #500. Sadly though it was quieted when they scored . Also Carcillo had a nice goal. Have to give him credit. The fans were funny though when he scored. Some were saying stuff like "Oh ****... was that really Carcillo?" Also gotta give Syvret some credit on his goal. It was a snipe. He didnt look to bad either. He had that one bad giveaway and penalty but played pretty well defensively. I also noticed a line change on defense in the 3rd.

Timonen-Pronger
Syvret-Carle
Coburn-Bartulis

Syvret has a beautiful shot from the point, noticed that right off the bat. Unfortunately, doesn't appear to have the game (yet?) to get himself in a position to use it on a regular basis. Carcillo had a fantastic game tonight...independent of scoring the goal, he did a lot of good tonight and didn't lose his cool just prior to the goal.

They actually deserve this one tonight. In my head, Danny Carcillo is there dancing, too.

Couldn't watch it live but just saw the highlights. Holy ****ing ****! How do our bottom 6 always score the best goal of the season. Last year it was Asham, this year it is Carcillo.

Also, Danny Syvret must really like our new whites (which look absolutely amazing even indoors). Both of his goals this season, his first two in the NHL, he scored in those

Also, JVR scored a goal again. Hopefully the floodgates open for him.

Danny Boy with his 500th point is also great

Fun game to watch, nice to see the Flyers put forth a 60-minute effort and beat an inferior team. That said, it means nothing to me if they come out in Pittsburgh tomorrow and play like ass. Consistency is the name of the game, and a spirited effort tomorrow against a bitter division rival that has absolutely owned us as of late (and embarrassed us the last time we played them in Pittsburgh) could go a long way in getting this season back on track.

One would assume, right? I can't imagine there would be many Flyers fans fighting each other during a game like that one.
