Probably doesn't want to hear it from Spezza every day about being made to look the fool.

That was back in July? Not part of a current trade request.

I know for fact that Souray refused to go to Ottawa a few days before July 1 as part of the foiled Heatley deal.

I think it's because his kids live in LA.. they fly up to see him in Edmonton, I'm guessing he wants to stay on the west coast. That was a big part of why he left Montreal.

You probably should have included "rumor" in the title.

I was looking for that video Eklund took of the ice sculptures in Montreal during the Allstar break, and I find it funny this was what he was reporting in January of last year:

January 4, 2009 - 3:29 PM ET
A source tells me that a possible swap of Spezza for Regehr + is looking like a stronger and stronger possibility.

January 7, 2009 - 3:56 PM ET
sidetracked by two rumours.... Both appear to have major legs, and one may indeed happen in the next day or two, The first one is Horcoff heading to Ottawa from Edmonton

January 12, 2009 - 3:28 PM ET
As for Spezza, new rumours that Columbus may move for Jason. I have heard Nash and Leclair for Spezza and Volchenkov.

January 14, 2009 - 12:31 PM ET
The Jackets love Spezza. Hitchcock particularly likes him and believes that he should and could be the perfect star to play with Nash.

January 29, 2009 - 12:25 PM ET
"The Sens are very interested in Erik Cole and the Oilers feel that Jason Spezza is a great fit with the current speedy young line-up. Of course Cole is a pending UFA and an extension would have to be first worked out. Also, the Sens would like a prospect d-man in the deal as well."

Another source agreed adding, "The Sens have made it known that they love Taylor Chorney."

Chorney is the Redden Replacement that the Sens could use. He is a heck of a prospect who many feel will be as good as Redden if not better."

The only thing Eklund knows for a fact is that his clothes come from the big and tall store.

I think Eklund is getting Souray and Heatley mixed up.

Oh no, the Sens didn't overpay to get an average defenceman, with decent scoring ability. Funny how Montreal hasn't missed him on the PP...hmmm...

I can't even begin to think of how much better Souray would make this team just with his PP presence alone.

Thank goodness...aside from a big shot on the powerplay, Souray is terrible with an awful contract.

LOL you know you have a reliable source when
1) You think for a second Columbus is going to give away Rick Nash
2) 2 days later you say that Nash AND Spezza may be playing on the same line, inferring Nash won't be going anywhere.
