Maybe if we name him Captain he can get a slashing call when someone explodes his stick in his hands.
No, but what he will get is a ton of ******** from the fans and media causing him to become overly stressed with not only carrying the team but trying to appease the fans and media resulting in him breaking down and leaving for Russia.
Being named captain of the habs has been the worst to happen to anyone since '93. The captains are either short lived and traded for peanuts or ragged on so much it's just... well, you can't even describe it.
Give the captaincy to Gomez. Nobody likes that guy.
What about Gionta? Now don't start bashing the selection, I'm just putting it out there.. I've seen most of the games he has played this year and I rarely see him take a night off, so too speak. I know he has yet to play a full, or heck even a full half season yet playing for the Habs.. But.. Just putting it out there, like I said.
Why would there be any bashing, Gionta is a great candidate too. But I have a feeling Cammy is great in the locker room and certainly appreciate the efforts Cammy has been putting into his French.
MARKOV NEVER SAID HE WOULD PROBABLY ACCEPT THE 'C'. They made it up and admitted it in the article.
From the Article:
"Nobody's asked me about it," he said of the captaincy, which remains vacant 46 games into the season and could well go unfilled for all 82.
"But if they did, I'd think about it. . . . It's a big responsibility to be captain in this city. I enjoy every day on our team and just try to do my job. This is not my first year and I feel more comfortable by the day."
So the "probable" acceptance of the captaincy might be putting a word in Markov's mouth,
They admit they were putting words in his mouth, aka making it up. Way to fall for headlines. He merely said he would think about it.
So funny to see Michel Villeneuve and the guys at La Zone creaming themselves after Markov was interviewed. How did they reached of Markov saying "it wouldn't be bad, I don't know, a captain in Montreal is a lot of responsability" to "Hell yea I want to be captain!" is beyond me.
