Conklin to join team in Anaheim: Blues TV analyst Darren Pang tweeted that G Ty Conklin will fly out to join the team in Anaheim for Thursday's game vs. the Ducks. Conklin initially stayed in St. Louis to take care of his son, Chase, who broke his leg.
• Congratulations to Andy Murray, former St. Louis Blues coach, for making reference to off-ice behavioral issues for the young Blues players in his exit interviews, leading to a multi-page thread of comments on the Post-Dispatch Web site titled "Is there an Issue with the Young Blues Partying too much?" Perhaps they can call Mike Richards(notes) to see how to handle something like this.

This story from a St. Louis Blues/Chicago Blackhawks supporter about battling Cystic Fibrosis, a miraculous lung transplant and the pride of being a hockey fan is pretty much the most touching thing we're read this season. Get the Kleenex and then go hug a loved one. It's one of those. [St. Louis Game Time, via Thrashing The Blues]
-Jeremy Roenick(notes) told AM640 in Toronto yesterday that he's "baffled" about Team USA's inclusion of Chris Drury(notes) on their roster and would have liked to have seen St. Louis Blues youngster T.J. Oshie(notes) make the team: "I know he's a great leader and if he's captain of the team, he'll be a great captain, but I just don't see him being as good for the team as a guy like Gomez would be or T.J. Oshie. Oshie would bring so much energy to this team and this type of format in an international event, that I don't understand how those two guys aren't on the team." Audio of the interview can be found at the AM640 website. [CTV]

Where does that quote come from blaming Murray for comments about the Blues' young players partying too much? The thread it references was started BEFORE Murray was fired....and if I remember right it was gross speculation on a pretty vague comment by Murray. I don't think this one is on him. This is almost entirely fabricated by the good Blues fans of the asylum on STLToday.
I heard Roenick's comments....I'm glad they were referenced. It was nice to hear a non-Blues' source laud Oshie so much. As I understand it, he was acknowledged as an "alternate"...so if someone is injured I think there's still a good chance Oshie could be on the team. I have a feeling politics entered into it a bit, and maybe the desire not to have 3 guys from the same team.

Oshie has been in a little bit of a sophmore slump this season, but there's some Team USA picks i agree could have gone to Oshie or some other great US players.
On that note:

Yes, the kid line was on fire last night and a few bounces, tips, and posts away from a multi-goal night last night. I think they're gonna break out tonight/very soon!
The whole team looked different last night and if they play like that the'll get some Wins! I hope Payne gets his first as coach tonight. The Hawks game he was thrown into basically, last night after only a few days of practicing with the new coach, the Blues looked like a different team. Payne and the Blues had a strong game last night and deserve a win tonight!

In the second half of the first, the Blues looked slow and they were having trouble moving the puck into the Ducks' zone. But they weren't giving up many quality scoring chances.

If we keep allowing Getz/Perry to control full shifts in our zone, it's just a matter of time. Hoping we can start tilting the ice back toward Hiller in the 2nd.

Ducks are doing a good job forcing the Blues to the outside as well!
Are you kidding me?! Backes does the exact same thing in the 1st gets called... Getzlaf sticks out his knee for a knee on knee hit... Ducks win... Unbelievable officiating
