On a more positive note, who do you guys think have the best goaltending tandem in the league?

Looks like there are at least two tandems doing slightly better than our duo percentage-wise (I guess not in the case of huet/niemi, but they have good overall stats):

Thomas (.919) /Rask (.933)
Huet (.912) /Niemi (.925)

Still, I think ours is the best given our team this year. What's interesting about those duos is that they include a vet and a rookie (or near rookie), whereas we have two young guns.

Well, since the wool seems firmly pulled over your eyes, let me remove it for a second. This seems to be like a prize fight for him (and you?), and in a prize fight, one guy can't win unless the other guy gets beaten up. That's fairly obviously what we're dealing with here, whether you recognize it or not there pal.

lol not quite my first day...

But seriously I doubt the Pens fans are bickering over and over about who is better between Malkin and Crosby...they have the 2 best centers and are pretty happy about it. We have 2 of the 5 best under 25yrs goaltenders and should be happy about it.

I'm just saying, the unfortunate fact that you haven't seemed to notice doesn't mean that he hasn't proven anything. He has proven to everyone paying attention that he is among the goaltending, nay, the NHL elite.

Perhaps you need to review my posting again, not once have I referred to Price in the context of that discussion....stay focus on whoever you are arguing with...

Stupid fans can't realise that goaltender isn't our issue this season. Can we plase talk about something else? Our poor offensive creativity or below average transition game.

Its not like we have Boucher-Leighton between the pipe.

For god sake please, can we talk about something else.
Honestly you had to see this coming after Halak's SO tonight...

I'll give the fans always b****ing about the goalie situation some credit though...At least they are consistent... They whine about the goalies when the Habs lose and also whine about the goalies when the Habs win...

NO as he has said in many posts he would like to see Halak have a real test of his ability and as Habs fans we should all like to Halak face some stiff competition and rise to it so we can gauge what the best move in the off season would be regarding our young but exceptional goal tending tandem. Halak has not been tested against top ten talent consistently enough to get an idea of his true worth. We do already know know that against non playoff teams he can and does excel but we need to know how he'll pan out against better teams. We already know Price can keep us in games against top tier teams and we need to score more to be successful in those games but how will Halak hold up in a 4 game stretch against top tier teams? He has played some better teams but the results are a mixed bag so yeah, coming off a shutout he should play NJ. Actually I could see a win if the team can score some goals for him, which has not been the case for Price, inexplicably, gets almost no goal support in those games.

Just noticed Cammalleri had 9 shots tonight. He'll break out of his slump soon enough, he's shooting as much as he did before he tried to be a set up man for Andrei.

Are goalies part of a hockey team? Yes.

Besides KingRacicot, I haven't read anything even saying Halak is the best goaltender. All we're talking about is how trading him will potentially bite us in the ass at some point.

I don't think we should trade Halak though. We can go really far in the playoffs with the Price/Halak duo. Seriously if Price has a bad game in the playoffs put in Halak. If Halak has a bad game (even if he wins) put in Price. Keep them fighting in the playoffs. If Halak is traded and Price does bad or does bad in the playoffs it would be pretty horrendous to see Sanford or Desjardins starting in the playoffs

Clearly Cammy needs to shot as often as possible....he has a knack for finding the opening! Gotta love him....

Is it possible to not have a goalie controversy in Montreal? Really, when was the last time there was no goalie controversy?

And how on earth does King Racicot only have 148 posts? What percentage of those are pro-Price/anti-Halak?

Last time was when we had King Roy in net and lost him due to a stupid stupid Coach and GM combo....
