Good for him. Great to see we're pretty solid between the pipes. Now I hope we can allocate more late picks for defenseman not from Plymouth.

Don't forget that The Fainting Goat was the AHL goalie of the year not too long ago

Peters doesn't make his saves off rebounds... and he handles the puck very well too - he deserves his all-star place.

Was solid again tonight in a 3-1 win over Hartford.

And that same man is now 7-0-1 for a decent team, with a 2.14 GAA and .928 Save Pct, with one shutout.

Zac Dalpe scored twice and added an assist in his last game. He is now over a point per game. 23 points in 22 games with 12 goals. The stats look really good. I wonder if he stays at Ohio State for his Junior season.

Depends on what happens with our prospects this coming season. If we bring Boychuk, Samson and Tlusty up there's no reason that the org shouldn't bring Dalpe in. Good chance they could sign him anyway but we'll see. The guy is an absolute stud prospect though, beyond glad we got him. I can't believe that a guy the Canes had at #16 on the board and I had in my top 20 was there in the mid 2nd.

The only thing for me is wondering about if they ever wanted him there at Ohio State to start with and if having an opportunity to get him out of there and into the hands they trust in Albany they may just take that opportunity.

He's really underrated in terms of our prospects. They have some video up on Ohio State's hockey site and he looks to move well and has really solid hands. He seems to be a forgotten man to a degree because he's not in Albany or the CHL.

I think we will try really hard to sign him during the offseason but ultimately it will be up to Dalpe to choose whether he wants begin his pro career or go back to college.

I think I read somewhere that Dalpe wants to turn pro next season and said he can finish his education at a later date.

Yep, he did indeed say just that:
Quote:
SC: Has Carolina been in touch with you at all throughout the season thus far, and what are your plans in regards to turning pro down the road?

ZD: They’ve been at quite a few games to keep tabs on me I guess you could say. At this point I want to play pro as soon as I can, because I can hold off on finishing school until later. As soon as I get the opportunity to make the jump to pro, I’m going to take it.

Hopefully we'll have him here next year, if Jamie McBain is anything to go by the step between college and the pros is enormous.

2-0-1 in the last three games

Not making any ground on Hershey, since they've won 12 straight or something like that.

I won't say it stands to reason, but it seems to "stand to history" that the gap between a college defenseman and a pro one is a greater divide than a college forward and a pro one. Just saying that I don't know that McBain is a great example in the case of Dalpe jumping to pro.

They're 15-3 in their last 18, two of those losses coming at the hands of Albany.

Zach Kassian with a "predatory hit" on Matt Kennedy: http://watch.tsn.ca/nhl/clip255708#clip255708

Pretty nasty.

Total cheapshot.

Blindside
Kennedy doesn't even touch the puck
Kassian leaves his feet to make the hit.

just a flat out bad hit that SHOULD justify a long-term suspension. But that's probably not what we'll see. Probably just a slap on the wrist.

Kassian, what an idiot. I like the guy but that was just blatant head hunting right there. Way to make a great impression on Windsor in your first game. Della Rovere is also an idiot for his dumb antics later on the game.

I hope Kennedy is OK after that dirty play from this mofo Kassian.

Why Kennedy plays for Sarnia? If i remember correct, he was captain of Guelph Storm.

Guelph traded Kennedy to Barrie in December. One of the many moves they've made in order to contend and take a run at Windsor.
