Flyers Wives Carnival

The carnival is this weekend and I have never been. Is it worth it to go or is it more of a thing for younger kids?

It just so happens that I will be in Philly this weekend to see the Flyers vs. Tampa Bay. Coming down from Maine to see a game. Didn't know the Carnival was the next day. Anyone have any idea how much tickets are?

Oh ****, I was supposed to get tickets. Oopsy. I'm figuring everything cool is probably sold out now, too.

Where is it located? Because if it is at the Wachovia Center, you can probably see all the same people at Chickie & Pete's afterward for the price of a beer. And you don't have to have the weight of giving to charity on your soul. God made those kids suffer for a reason. And who are you to go against his will? Just who the **** are you...

It's not a bad time, but if you are into the whole autographed picture and playing videogames thing, you're probably too late to get good pics. You could probably get a pic ticket for Michael Leighton.

According to the Carnival website, there are still tickets available for pictures and some autograph sessions. Carter and Richards are sold out for autographs but they still have a couple of slots open for pictures and other guys (Briere, Emery, Giroux, Gagne and Pronger) are still available for autographs and pictures I think.

I've never been but I'm thinking about it.

That sucks because the title alone suggests that one would be able to purchase a wife to have sex with.

It's annoying that they do this **** when everyone goes back to school. I wish they'd do it over Winter or Spring Break so I could go to one.

2004-2005 season, I was like a man possessed. I got 22 player autographs on my jersey and Coatse (if he didn't have a pretty signature, in retrospect I would have regretted that).

The trick is to get early admission, get all the presold autographs spread out. I waited in line and my dad waited in line. I'd get my jersey signed, then run it over to him in his line, and we'd switch and I'd get in a new line. Was there all day, dropped way too much $$$, but it was so worth it. I think this was when presold were $15 and day of were $10. Now presold are $22

i'm a fan and all but i don't get the whole "let me drop a dime or two for some sports athlete to sign my piece of clothing". investment wise, it is not a smart choice. yeah, sure.. you could just "enjoy" but who are you kidding? seems like a waste of money i would rather spend on glass seats at the game.

I know I'm going. Getting my Winter Classic Giroux Jersey signed, and printing an Emery & Gagne picture out to get signed.
Also printing out a JVR picture in hopes I can get it signed. Since he's a Rookie, I don't think you have to purchase autograph sessions for him.

There are lines where you buy tickets to but they aren't pre-sold...like when you get there, there'll be guys signing for 5-10 bucks. There'll even be random guys taking photos that weren't pre-sold.

You'll have to pay for it, just not pre-sold or anything.

You're kinda right, I went a few seasons back and it was certainly fun...but very expensive. I think I got maybe 10 autographs and ran out of money (I was like 16ish), so I just started taking pics.

The coolest part was when I was trying to line up a picture of Chris McAllister from about 10 rows under him, and he noticed...he stopped mid-autograph to pose and smile for the picture. I miss him playing wing next to Marty Murray.

They must have changed it then. Phantoms & Rookies are usually Free for autograph, but pay to get a picture.

I guess we'll see. I would be willing to pay for a JVR Autograph anyway - as long as the price isn't outrageous.
Speaking of Phantoms... Will they even have them this year since they are not located in the area?
