At least he has solidified himself on this team and well get no less than 4-4.5 million a year because of a great first half. Things could have gone a lot worse for him.

You have the glass half full perspective. The other scenario is that his momentum that he was building for himself is now set-back, and he'll look a bit like the AK at the start of the season.

This is a huge blow to the team. He was turning his entire season around since starting off slow and now he's out for over a month. Just horrible.

I don't really want to split up that Pouli-Gomez-Gio line. It's clicking for us and it's great.

I think Sergei could play with Plekanec and Cammalleri. I just hope to god we don't decide to put MaxPac or D'Ags on that line.

It's time to make a trade for a veteran top-two line player that Gainey could get for cheap.

Whitney in Carolina would be my first choice.

Kariya from St-Louis could be an option....

Or Kovalev.....................

Ouch, Belarus loses Kostitsyn and Grabovski. Damn, my Sweden and Belarus tickets aren't as enticing anymore.

Damn. Horrible news. If Sergei comes back he could be a solution although he's not a goalscorer and when he was put with Cammy & Pleks earlier he wasn't great. He had good chemistry with Gomez though and he might click with Gionta too. Also, I think Cammy and Pleks need some size on their wing, so I'd try Pouliot with them.

Cammy-Pleks-Pouliot
SK-Gomez-Gionta

I just don't see either Patches or D'ags as long term solutions.

Fun fact: a Gionta-Desharnais-Cammaleri line would be a combined 8 inches smaller than the original Smurf line of Petrov-Koivu-Bure.

I sure hope so,not sure if they have the same coach but didn't he get benched at the worlds last year or something like that.Chances are it will be a long tournament for them anyways so I just hope he doesn't get hurt

MAB is useful in 1 spot and 1 spot only, and we all know where that is.

The 6th forward will be a revolving door of Sergei, D'Ago, MaxPac and probably even Moen as JM has put him there before.

IF MAB is playing a top 6 role, JM is just proving my point even more and more, which is that he doesn't belong anywhere near an NHL franchise.
Honestly, its not my first option, but Martin's options are extremely limited right now. Bergeron always looks good on 4-4 situations; he's always thinking offense. He's also not shy about shooting and has a lot of confidence right now. That's what it comes down to for me. I know Dago and Max have the skills to play an offensive role, but they're too scared to make mistakes and they play too tentatively.

I would keep what we did vs. Florida, at least until Sergei comes back:

Cam-Plek-D'Ago
Pou-Gom-Gio
Pac-Met-Moe
Ber-Lap-Lar

Maybe I'm alone, but I get the feeling that Cam & Plek are going to step up a bit more than they have the last few games knowing Andrei is out for a while. If they can help D'Ago get a goal or two it could really help his confidence and get him to contribute a bit more.

Looks like a trade isn't an option so I figure a lot is going to be expected of SK in the next little while. Is it just me, is his stick too damned long? I always think that every time I see him on the ice. Beliveau is the only player with that kind of reach who I thought could play well.

The team without the bros sucks, thanks God we have Markov and Pleks.

AKost, SKost, Markov and Pleks make this team exciting.

I think it is more like they are going to try to play a more defensive minded game as they did against Buffalo and Florida. The Habs interviewed after the Florida game all commented on how important it was to focus on defense and hopefully come out on top.

Don't they all play different positions?

Sergei LW/RW
Grabovski C
Andrei RW

It wouldn't matter

I mentioned earlier that a trade would be the best option now that AK is out. An astute poster mentioned that there is no Cap room to do this. So,...? Also, would need to be a legitimate top 6 forward to fill in for AK.

Actually, there are some good players on that list. Could it be doable?
