holy crap, 6th , 1 pt behind Boston, 5 pts from Pitts, where did this come from?

This season is a roller coaster, start great , suck hardcore , now playing great again

It's about Hank and team D. They can keep the opponent to 2 goals they can win. If they blow assignments and give up 3 then they are in trouble.

Sniper is needed. I am happy for Christensen but a #1 C would be big. Would give them a 2nd line with Prospal coming back too

I'd be happy with a #2 C.

That 4 game win streak during late December really propelled us back in the race... We also have points in all the 5 games played so far out of January.

Great game, start to finish...

But Lundqvist played terrible... wow they really should have started Johnson instead. Dont know what Torts is thinking these days.

8-1-3 in the last 12. Keep the points rolling in.

Today was a solid win for a team who is, in my mind, rebuilding on the fly. The fact that the offense has picked up without Vinny means soemthing.

That are scoring a ton of goals around the net.

I have 2 beefs:

1) Kotalik on the point. His confidence is shot.
2) More of Lisin. He is really good with the puck
.
Agreed on both points.

The Kotalik experiment started out well, but now he's no better than Rozsie back there. Maybe they could try him on the second unit off the half boards, but he should no longer be playing on the point, ever. Perhaps we can get Edmonton to take him back since he apparently played really well there last year? I'm no longer eating crow on this signing.

Lisin is playing really well in limited time. And the flashes of brilliance are still there. Time to start giving him more time again - and time with better players - to see if he can grow with the role.

I'd take either. but I'm not interested in giving up a ton of assets for Kovalchuk.

Christensen and Dubinsky seem to have picked it up big time. Early this year I said Dubi was going to have a big year and if was not out them 10 games I feel he would be having a big year. Gabby /prospal and Christensen when he returns and if Christensen can stay hot. The second line of Dubinsky Callahan and AA could be really good. All 3 are home grown talents that never quit and would be fun to watch

I watched the game today and Girardi had a hell of a game. Dubi too.

I think a Saku Koivu would fit nicely as a second line center, I'd like the Devil's to sign him too because we need a number 2 center but I think Prospal is capable of being your number 1.

What a surprise; better team-D equals 8-1-3. Frustrating to see Hank lose his shutout late for what seems like the 20th time this season, but otherwise he was excellent once more. Keep it up boys.

good all around game by the rangers.

not many complaints, and it wasnt a game where i felt just 1 or 2 people carried us...which is a VERY VERY good thing.

Hehe nice effort. I wish it was 3am, that way I would stay up as well. 5am is really bad because you dont know whether to stay up or go to bed early and get up just in time for the game.

Nice to see Rangers get it done against banged up Bruins team. 1 point behind Bruins for #5 seed.

Boston has 1 game in hand, Pitts has played the same as us, and the rest of the teams behind us would still be behind us if the won all the games in hand.

Bruins only have 1 game in hand and Pens have played as many as we did. Either way we are not catching top 4 but if we continue to play like we have past 2-3 weeks we have a shot at #5 or #6 seed. Off course 1 decent losing streak and we'll be fighting to get into playoffs.

imho the key is to avoid Pittsburgh and Washington in the playoffs. None of the other teams scare me, not Joizee, not the Sabres...none. I think we can beat any of them in a 7 game series. We dont match up against those high octane teams though. We cant score enough to go blow for blow, and we arent good enough defensively to win in a long series.

Agree. We stack up OK against Devils and IMO Sabres are overachieving (no disrespect to Sabres fans). Avoid Pitt or Was at any cost, especially Pitt.

I think in the end either of those seeds is best for the Rangers. They must avoid finishing towards the bottom.

From the highlights on NHL.com, this game looked like the Henrik Lundqvist show.

When other teams have games in hand, why are they automatic wins?

Not sure this has been posted yet... Love how DZ owns Jack Edwards on the NESN broadcast, that's priceless. The quality of the vid should improve in a moment. Good night.
