I don't think so, I think it is 7 pro years or age 27, whichever comes first. JBo played 7 years in the pros (i.e. since 18) so he became UFA last summer.

I believe this is correct since Grebeshkov was 25 when he re-signed with us in the offseason while being an RFA

Ive got a question.

Is it just me or does Eberle always look really baked?

thats why he is so creative offensively.

He is probably just tired from carrying team Canada on his back.

Seriously its just how he looks.

I would like to see him with the AHL team again it really seemed to help him gauge his training for this past off season.

Because that's the way to fix the mess: Trade away all the prime-aged players. Some of the things that get said on this board... geez.

And for the record, it's 7 years of pro hockey - not 25 years of age. For Gagner, it will be 25 because he started at 18. But for Jordan, who will be 20 when he starts his pro career, it'll be 27.

Regina has really connected with Eberle...

i say let him play it out... lets be honest... it would be in our best interest for him to learn to be a Hockey God on a mediocre team. He might as well get used to it now,

A few years when Kyle Chipchura was actually being touted as being a good player, the PA Raiders decided to keep him and make a push for the playoffs even though they only had a outside chance of making the dance. The Raiders failed to qualify and are just now starting to pull themselves out that hole.

In major junior, if you don't have the playoffs then you trade your likely last year players to contenders to restock the system. The playoff revenue is too important to squander away. The Pats aren't going to make it and if they miss this year they can get a few more years of suck to go with that. You don't work your ass for a dollar if it's going to cost you $50 in the long run. I player like Eberle would garner some good 14-16yr olds and deepen their prospect pool. I'd be surprised if he's still thee after 3pm today.

It would be very short sited thinking if they keep him. I'd say trade him.

That's good, if he likes Regina, Edmonton should be okay with him. Though once the Oilers go on those Florida/California road trips, they need to keep him locked in his room.

Spoke with a family member of Eberle in the fall about this and it was suggested that Brandon would be the likely destination for him since he could be guaranteed a Memorial Cup appearance.

If he goes anywhere it'll likely be Brandon, but I don't see it after the Pats picked up Ashton. I think he stays in Regina.

I hope not. Better to learn about pressure in big games than to be booted up to the Oil Farm team to languish.

Memorial Playoff Experience >>> AHL Experience

That is my opinion!

That's probably true, but I suppose they could re-trade Ashton as well as Eberle and Teubert?

They better hurry up less than 3 hours left. But IMHO its never going to happen. The best junior player in the CHL can do alot yet.

Apparently because Jan 10th falls on a Sunday, the deadline is tomorrow at noon instead.

If I had to guess I'd say no.

If they did trade him though, is that the sort of player for whom you could expect a huge package in return?

Makes sense, I thought Brandon wouldn't have enough to trade for Eberle. I thought either Saskatoon or Calgary would make a push for him. Was thinking Calgary because their team is so young.

They didn't have time to deal Teubert?

I supposed they are keeping Ashton for next season?

Huh, colour me wrong. Well, good for them if they get some good players/picks for him and good for Jordan if he gets a chance with a better team. I just want him to keep being challenged so hopefully this does that.

Oh, never mind all this then.
