Too funny: An Incoherent Lapointe

"When we were up, 3-1, we wanted maybe too much to put them away," said right winger Marty Lapointe. "Sometimes too much is not enough."

--> Well no one said you have to make sense to play hockey.

Makes sense to me. When a person wants something too badly, he tends to overthink it and get phsyced out. Happens to me from time to time when I spend too much time thinking about something, weather it be a school test or a hockey game.

Seems like he tried to translate the French saying «Des fois, trop c'est comme pas assez», the results of this translation doesn't sounds good though.

I remember a great man named Francois Pérusse once said that....

Lapointe = incoherent

You know you can't say anything bad against the guy. Hey, he makes a lot of money but he is a great leader and he is a physical player always ready to hit a small player and wash his face with his gloves but go away when the tough guy is coming. What a player.

Well he did take a stupid penalty when his team was down 1-0 with 3 minutes to go...

Yeah, but he played with more heart than anyone else on the team.
I don't hold that penalty against him one bit.

I loved what Mike Ribeiro said on RDS last night after the game.

He told Lapointe during the handshake that he didn't fake it, he was really hurt, and all that doesn't matter anymore because they won.
