Ray Emery's New Mask

Lindbergh, Hextall and Parent ... awesome stuff. I can't wait for him to get back from his injury!

pretty nice.
but anything is nice compared to that horrid mask he had before. the artist he got to airbrush those boxers on his mask should go back to highschool art class.

maybe now he'll get some pads that arent the ugliest things i've ever seen in my life.
orange pads with an orange home jersey? that's absurd. and for christ's sake, the orange isnt even the same shade as the jersey.

ray's pads are great looking. i agree, though, that his original helmet is weak.

i love his pads. The old mask was a cool color scheme but the boxers were weak.

Depending on how much he wants, probably.

Guys like Halak and Biron will be on the market and, while the case could be make for going after Halak, I think that the team will stay with Emery as long as he makes a solid performance down the stretch. Though, if he becomes a playoff hero, he may price himself out of the Flyers' range.

i cant see him being able to be too pricey b/c where else will he be a number 1 or who be confident that he wont go back to how he acted in Ottawa. i think philly is the best place for him. not saying he is the best goalie for us but Philly is the best fit for his talent and mentality.

I think he'll be back. If he makes a good Cup run, he'll want to come back.

Well, the goalie market is always hard to judge. And next season there will be at least 9 goalies with higher cap hits than Brodeur and Luongo so the market is definitely based upon need rather than rationality.

If Turco sets the bar really high, some lesser goalies might get sweet deals with the teams still thinking that they got a good price. Who knows. But there will be guys like Biron on the market for cheap and Halak will almost certainly be the starter on his new team so that may keep demand, and therefore price, down. And one supposes that there is a microscopic chance that Emery gives the team that took him away from Eastern Europe a bit of a discount.

There was nothing wrong with the first mask paintjob, i'm sure you can do better that's why you have NHL goalies lining up for you to paint their masks. As far as the color of his pads go, they don't make flourescent orange pads just for the sake of television. Anything else Mr. Blackwell....?

Emery is going to be a great addition to the team. I cannot wait to see how he looks when he makes his reappearance. If this team can stay healthy we can have a great shot at surprising a lot of people.

I don't know. I've heard cases where the surgery he got leads to unfortunate whiteness.

Luckily that only ends the careers of boxers, basketball players, and wide receivers.
