Oilers-Panthers

To Panthers:
C Andrew Cogliano
G Nikolai Khabibulin
1st rounder

To Oilers:
C Nathan Horton
G Tomas Vokoun
G Jacob Markström

I'd take this in a heartbeat. Markström will be an amazing goalie a few years from now, and Vokoun could play here for a while, not to mention Nathan Horton's offensive tools would fit nicely with
Penner-Horton-Hemsky
I recognize that at this point (unfortunately) our 1RP looks like it could be a high pick, but I'd think that Markström and Horton outweight what could potentially be Taylor Hall, Tyler Seguin, or Cam Fowler.

Thoughts?

I kind of figured, haha.
I don't entirely hate the idea of giving up Cogs, but it's the 1RP that really hurts... and giving up Gagner or someone else like that isn't doable. Hard to say. I really like Vokoun and Markström though.

The part where we take on massive additional salary is kind of a problem too.

Or the Oilers don't do that, because it doesn't really make them better.

I doubt it, it's pretty tough to make trades now on NHL 2010

You guys see what I mean?

There should be a minimum post count of 75000 before you can create a proposal thread.

switch Cogliano with Horcoff and we might have something to discuss. Oilers are not going to give up a top 3 pick AND add on ~8M in salary..

When Andrew Cogliano is playing in the minors two years from now and we wound up with pick #13, this is going to look much better. Is this not NHL 2010?

Not that he need defending, but I'm pretty sure English isn't Tyrolean's first language.

Cogliano in the Minors? Are you insane, just stop.

Having said that, there are a small number of posters who have ridiculously high post counts and should simply not be allowed to post here anymore.

You're right, on the Oilers, he plays on the NHL team. On any other squad- besides the Leafs and the 'Canes he's barely an NHL player.
