why doesn't somebody in the league office in Toronto just watch the game? They have to rely on somebody from pittsburgh to send them video?

can't they afford center ice? maybe it was blacked out in toronto - what a joke of a league

I have no real ill-will towards Pittsburgh, cannot see how anyone would be able to defend this though. It was blatantly a wrong thing to do, and should be investigated. I will hold off any REAL judgement until the NHL does make a ruling though.

I can see Steigerwald (probably mispelled) and Errey telling the guys in the production truck to erase the footage, they strike me as guys who would do that.

hell, I get pens text alerts, I wouldve gotten a notice of this if it were a big deal.

They won the game, why do they care over one bad call? we all knew it was a goal, but it didnt matter in the end. why make a big deal
Why would the NHL want to highlight a foul up in their reviewing process? Why would the Pens put something on their website that reflects negatively on their broadcasters? The NHL's website as well as all the teams' websites exist as a tool to retain fans not push them away.

I hope nobody here ever gets charged with attempted murder. "Well, it's not like I actually killed her", is not a viable defense.

The whole, "they won the game anyway therefore this is a non issue", is just as facepalm worthy.

NFL and NCAA work the same way through local broadcast.

Also, why would the Flyers spend extra money setting up their own cameras in Pittsburgh?

Coverage is on the home team usually in all sports.

The NHL is such a bush league it's almost pitiful. American college football is more professionally run. What a joke.

Clarification: this is not an indictment of FSN Pitt but of the NHL.

Center Ice wouldn't of done any good, they didn't show the good footage until after.

FSN during the game actually went back before the next puck drop and they showed penguins fans that we got scored on. BOB ERREY even pointed it out and says "yea its a goal"

im just so sick of people walking all over the penguins any chance they get. the "bandwagon" and "bettman handed you 2 godly players" crap, and everything else. Ive been a fan for nearly 20 years now, and im getting sick of watching hokey cause of garbage like that.

seriously, no one wants to enjoy the game anymore, its like some kind of biased war

What video do you think you watch on Centre Ice, some "special feed?" You watch the feed of the local broadcast's.

I am thinking you may be right if an investigation of those responsible reveals that they deliberately with held an angle from the war room. Certainly the person(s) integrity is called into question although you may be able to achive the desired result with a strong letter of warning to those responsible. The person's history and their response in the investigation could result in something as serious as termination.

The league itself may upon the findings of FSN's investigation, level its own disciplinary measure. They have a wide range of options to choose from - the most likely being a large fine and perhaps some type of closer scrutiny.

Seriously, docking a team draft picks for something it had no control over. The Pittsburgh Penguins do not own, control FSN, nor do they have any say in what angles they send. You haters are just

And again, no one has answered this question. If FSN withheld that angle on purpose to try and pull a fast one on the league, why would they then televise it and specifically point out, oh hey, this angle says its a goal?

Let me make this very clear one last time.

The NFL and NCAA (those organizations that apparently have a much better reviewing process) use the same method as the NHL to review plays. They also rely on home-team telecasts, etc.

That's the way review works.

This is on FSN Pittsburgh for either purposefully or accidently withholding evidence.

The NHL will investigate whether they did it on purpose. The NHL is NOT at fault.

Don't want to try to start an argument or anything, but what FSN did was clearly wrong. I was watching, and there was no reason at all that the angle shouldn't have been sent in.

Makes you wonder how long this cheating has been going on and if the Pens Stanley Cup victory should have an asterisk beside it. Pathetic.

I guess it's understandable.

Dear lord, people, it's an investigation. They are INVESTIGATING. Something wrong MIGHT have happened. Chill out.

This thread has basically been nuked by overly defensive Penguins fans failing to see the point. Well done.

You can say it till youre blue in the face, most people refuse to listen to facts and how things work if it goes against an opinion that they refuse to change.

It may have not meant anything to the game but it still needs to be investigated.
