One thing to point out is that the Flyers feed, which uses video from the FSN Pittsburgh feed, did not broadcast the same video.

I don't remember getting that angle on the Flyers' feed when watching the game. I remember just getting the questionable angles.

The FSN feed however definitely showed it while I'm confident the CSN feed did not.

mistakes happen, even when you dont intend on them happening.

i think this issue is getting blown out of proportion

You mean the same company that got rid of Hall of Famer Mike Lange and hired toolbag Paul Steigerwald? Shocking.

FSN Pittsburgh is under contractual agreement to send in all angles that they have, they failed to live up to that. Whether they did it on purpose or by accident will determine what happens though.

I think that you can punish the network, but to punish the team is outright stupid. It's not like Shero was standing behind the production crew with a gun to their heads. I doubt anyone in the Penguins organization has anything to do with the replay angles available at any given time.

Punishing the team doesn't make sense. Punishing the network with a huge fine should happen.

Yes, Penguins fans are certainly the only sports fans to speak in the plural first person when discussing their favourite team, you've definitely got a point there. You haters are pathetic.

Except that cheating in professional sports ranges from taking steroids to hit more homeruns or busting kneecaps to have a better shot at gold.

If this was intentional, which is what the NHL is investigating, it is cheating. No question.

If a mistake was made there should still be a punishment, but if this was on purpose, then the NHL should take a very serious approach to this.

If true, it is very serious. These things are essential for the integrity of the game.

Wow, talk about overreacting.

It's an investigation. Even if FSN intentionally withheld the camera angle, I doubt they were conspiring with Pens ownership to do so. I mean really.

There needs to be protocal league wide going forward, it would be a disgrace to the sport if it happens again and impacts a game with playoff implications.

Ha, this is pretty different. For a tv producer to forget the cameras they have covering a game would be insane. That would perhaps be the most inept tv production crew ever.

The team shouldn't be punished, but they are partially at fault. It is well known that their official broadcaster is a joke and they haven't tried to do anything about it. Why would you want these clowns representing your team like that?

PLEASE, Someone that thinks this was on purpose (if FSN did indeed fail to send that replay) answer this question>

Why would they then televise that angle, and point out that it was a goal?

Mistakes happen, but this "mistake" happened at an interesting time.

Haven't I been saying this for months? The pittsburgh penguins are the "corporate champion" of the nhl.

Bettman is Vince McMahon manipulating his league to keep them on top. Crosby is the Rock (Although I hate that comparison), Lemeuix is Pat Patterson, Bylsma is Brisco and the rest of the team are the corporate lackies.

Please tell me somebody here knows what the **** I'm talking about?

Do you dumbasses realize that that FSN Pittsburgh, other than broadcasting games on TV, isn't affiliated with the Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey Club. They're owned by Fox, which, you might know, is a rather large broadcasting organization. I know, it's complicated.

But, if it is true, FSN Pittsburgh should certainly be subject to sanctions. In fact, they should beat Steiggy and then fire him as punishment. We should be so lucky.

maybe the person deciding what is televised is not the same person deciding what is sent to the league?

When was this change made? I used to like listening to Lange, Steigerwald not at all based on the few games I have heard him call this season. In fact he may be one of the worst I have heard this season out of about 20 play by play guys.

Why would they also say something along the lines of, "We were saving this angle."

There are a lot of questions to resolve here.

That's why the NHL is investigating. They can't just go, "They couldn't possibly be stupid enough to not give us all the angles," and let the whole thing go.
