Pat Quinn: "Expect the Unexpected"

In his press conference today.. Is he referring to an early return for Nolan? What else could this mean?

Hopefully Sundin suiting up is the suprise..

Sundin playing would be characterized at 'Not entirely likely' IMO, although the media and Quinn are doing everything possible to make it 'the unexpected'.

As for Nolan, I would doubt he could be back this early, unless the MRI was extremely positive...

Seeing reactions by a few persons here maybe he meant the Leafs wil win?

might that not be a problem if both nolan and sundin came back? remember 2 years ago against the Canes. We got Sundin back and it seemed lke the whole team just stood around and expected him to do it all. We need every guy playing deseperate and expecting nothing from everyone else.

I don't expect it's possible, but Nolan coming back would totally floor me - favorite player.
He did apparently practice in full gear today...still I don't see it happening.

Just think about it.They show us 20 second long record about Sundin practising, but without intensity, and not a word from Nolan. What is this just a set up to make belive to the fans, and the Sens that they are not able to play.
After they turn off the camera and start practising with full force.Isn't that possible?

I believe at this point, in a game seven the return of Nolan and/or Sundin would be huge boosts to the team, not a negative. Guys like Joe and Gary arent going to sit back just because there are returns from the infirmary.

Maybe he's just stating that in game 7's you should always expect the unexpected Not like Quinn is a writer for Days Of Our Lives.

Here's my take on it...

Sundin, he's gonna play. This is the game he's most needed. He'll be in, unless it's very serious, and I don't think it is.

Nolan, not bloody likely, but if anyone is willing to do it, it's likely Owen.

Maybe Pat is referring to the game plan? Are the Leafs going to change it, to put more shots on Lalime? I don't know if he'd be ready to go from facing 15-20 shots on average to 30-40 shots in a game...

My keys to a Leafs victory:

1) Depth at centre pays off. Francis/Nieuwendyk have to play top level games.
2) PP specialists Leetch/Mogilny must play their best games of the series.
3) Toronto has to play like they did in game 6, strong positionally, but they must put 2-3 pucks behind Lalime.
4) Ed Belfour has to be Ed Belfour. He's gonna be angry about game 6, he let a weak one in...look for him to be bigger than any other game this series tonight.

I'd like to know the context in which Quinn said this.

Yeah, that's the problem, the game plan has only called for 15-20 shots a game. It's not that the Sens have played well enough that the Leafs are too busy trying to defend, but that the game plan has only called for 15-20 shots a game. While he changes the plan to include 30-40 shots a game, why not just simplify things and make the plan to be the Leafs score 10 while Belfour doesn't see a single shot.

I mean come on, this is ridiculous. If the Leafs decided to try and open it up, to get to the point where they got 30-40 shots, the Sens would blow the doors off. It'd end up being about 6-2 Sens, Eddie or no Eddie.

Yes, you got me, my comment meant that the Leafes were trying to get only 15-20 shots...are you for real? I meant that he's changed his game plan that was not working, to possibly get more shots...not that he wanted few shots. Please, use abstract thinking when reading a comment rather than whatever that was.

Alright guys according to TSN, Toronto just acquired: Martin St-Louis, Chris Pronger, Vincent Lecavalier, Pavel Dasyuk, Ilya Kovelchuck and Rocket Richard came back from the dead and joined the Buds.
