CBA: RFA, UFA Etc.

Does anyone know if these numbers have changed?

WHAT IS THE COMPENSATION REQUIRED FOR SIGNING A RFA TO AN OFFER SHEET?

For 2008-09, the compensation due for signing a RFA to an Offer Sheet is:

$863,156 or less- None

$863,156 - $1,307,812- 3rd round pick

$1,307,812 - $2,615,625- 2nd round pick

$2,615,623 - $3,923,437- 1st and 3rd round pick

$3,923,437 - $5,231,249- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick

$5,231,249 - $6,539,062- Two 1st's, one 2nd, one 3rd round pick

$6,539,062 or more- Four 1st round picks

$1506,718 - $3,013,433 - 2010 2nd round pick
$3,013,433 - $4,520,150 - 2010 1st round pick, 2010 3rd round pick
$4,520,151 - $6,026,867 - 2010 1st round pick, 2010 2nd round pick, 2010 3rd round pick
$6,026,868 - $7,533,584 - 2010 1st round pick, 2011 1st round pick, 2010 2nd round pick, 2010 3rd round pick
Over $7,533,584 - 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 1st round picks.

It is a major change and opens the game a little more... Now that you can sign someone for $3 and only give up a second round pick, I would expect a greater interest in offer sheets in the near future.

I was mainly interested to see what we may get back in return for Richardson. I'm guessing after we make him a qualifying offer, some team will probably show some interest and tender him an offer sheet. Looking at the breakdown, if we don't match the offer, I'm guessing we'll get a 2nd rounder back in return.

Either ways, Richardson should get a pretty big raise from his current salary.

i believe Richardson is arbitration eligible. he ain't likely going to get an offer-sheet.

He hasn't proven he can make his 4th line mates any better yet
