Sens practicing in Central Park this morning

Quote:
NEW YORK _ The Senators are going to get an up close and personal look at the Big Apple today.

Coming off an ugly 6-1 loss to the Atlanta Thrashers last night, the Senators will be on the ice in Central Park today for a one-hour skate at 11 a.m.

The Senators will scrap the sticks and pads. All they'll wear is helmets, practice jerseys and skates as the club tries to find its way out a five-game losing streak.

No other details were available. The Senators were originally scheduled to practice at Chelsea Piers, a facility in downtown Manhattan.

Might have to sneak out for an hour

Why haven't the Rangers ever held a workout at Central Park?

Wollman Rink.

Because they see practice as serious work and don't want it to be a spectacle?

I snuck over to take a look: they weren't there. Perhaps they're uptown, where the hockey rinks are.

This is probably a team bonding exercise, rather than a real practice.

it actually sounds like a great idea. The season is long. They play games, practice, play games, go on the road, play more games. Time to get out there in some sort of uniform that says they're a Ottawa Sens hockey player, clear the head and hope to not hold sticks too tightly. Every once in a while that's gotta be done.
