back to the Habs...plz no not with his salary.

Only thing that is interesting from the Oilers is Hemsky, Penner and their 1st round pick in 2010. that's all.

all for Halek?

I dont ****ing think so

A few months ago one of the talking heads on fan590 did a ten minute segment on Eklund and explained some of how eklund gets some of his stories and just how eklund is to meet---the talking head's comment that stood out--"Interesting character but may not have a full deck." Apparently at on draft eklund tried to get into the media area and got laughed away.

Eberle is pretty much untouchable right now and the rest is not what the Habs need right now to make the playoffs this year.

it was fixed befor eyou posted and I don't think you guys will be getting Hemsky, Penner or MPS... unless you meant 2010 pick and they won't move that either

and as a fan that despises the Oilers... Souray's deal isn't that bad... it's better than Horcoff's who always seems rumored to the Habs...

I wouldn't be shocked if the Oilers had alot of interest in Halak however... with Khabibulin done for the year it wouldn't be shocking...

or maybe we could see a few big (and some bad) contracts traded in one big deal!

to Edmonton:
F - Scott Gomez (7.357)
F - Andrei Kostitsyn (3.250)
F - Sergei Kostitsyn (0.817)
D - Roman Hamrlik (5.500)
G - Jaroslav Halak (0.775)

to Montreal:
F - Shawn Horcoff (5.500)
F - Fernando Pisani (2.500)
F - Robert Nilsson (2.000)
F - Alex Cogliano (1.133)
D - Lubomir Visnovsky (5.600)

and in typical HF tradition... we can use picks to even it out (not that i actually paid attention to trade value)

Would love to see Penner in a Habs uniform, I also like Gagner a lot but I think it would cost too much to get him.

Maybe a similar deal to the Lats vs Pouliot deal.

A struggling D'Agostini for a struggling Cogliano.

If Montreal and Edmonton made trades even 5% of the times Eklund reported they were, they would've completely switched rosters 3 times over by now. For a couple of teams who are always in trade rumors together, they almost never trade with each other. I couldn't even tell you what or when the last trade they made was.

So why are they always rumored to be "close to a deal"? Because it results in a lot of hits to Eklund's site.

I thought I heard on Hockey Central that Khabibulin is down with surgery so the Oilers are looking for a goalie now.

No.. If there's any deal here it'll be something based around Halak to EDM.

edmonton

o'sullivan + grebeshkov + desauliers

for

hamrlik + halak + s.kostitsyn + 2nd round pick'11 or 1st in '11

s.kostitsyn to pair up with gagner. halak to take over number 1 role in edmonton give them some solid goaltending. hamrlik to strenght their D on the backend.

montreal gets o'sullivan to help their offense a bit. grebeshkov to help us on the backend offensively. desauliers might be a downgrade from halak but to make the deal fair i find that it evens out with halak and a 2nd round pick going edmonton's way or a first. they get stronger in net and have a solid shutdown guy on the backend in hamrlik. s.kostitsyn is to get possibly gagner, kostitsyn, and cogliano going on a line.

this works capwise and helps both teams. too be honest the way tambellini was talking a the world juniors, about svensson and eberle going to be the future of the team. the way they talked and duthie asked him sounded like they know the year is kind of in the ******* and are already looking to next year, but are not going to stop competing this year because they kind of know they are going to be out of the playoffs.

this deal helps montreal cap wise, and would help edmonton cap wise for next year as well.

Halak for Cogliano+? not sure what the Oilers would have to add though, although I don't think it would be a ton

athough I would prefer to see a 3way just for fun...

to Edmonton: Halak
to Montreal: Biron
to New York: Cogliano

I think there is probably something to this. There has been smoke around the Oilers and Habs for a while now.

I could see something involving Halak to Edmonton and Souray/Gilbert/Grebeshkov heading the other way. More pieces would have to be involved, but I can see some fits there. Deslauriers would probably be heading the other way.

I don't see true fits being there for Oilers forwards.

I'm calling Shenanigans on this one. I read the link, he has no names, no clue. he's just hoping they will make a trade, and 2 years from now when they do he'll cite this last post and say "see, I called it, but for reason a-b-c didn't happen till now"

On my scale of bull poop I give it an E5

It was a matter of time before you came out with your s.kostitsyn offer....

Why the heck would the Habs give up Halak for Biron? Downgrading a position and getting older at the same time doesn't make alot of sense.

I would be disappointed if the Habs were targeting Cogliano. He's more of what we've already got. A good player to be sure, but not what is needed.

You're correct. they are looking for a goalie, they are looking at Hannu Toivenen(sp) to replace dubnyk in the AHL... LBH(5)

Halak + Laraque

for

Edmonton's 2nd rounder + Stortini

I'd do it as a Habs fan. Stortini might not be a premiere heavyweight, but at least he'll do something to defend his teammates and has the potential to go postal from time to time, unlike Laraque.
