So, Khabibulin, JDD, and DD are all gone? What happens to Olivier Roy?

If we could get Bourque i would be so very happy. He would be perfect for our second line. And atleast we would not have to play against him any more.

I really doubt that Calgary would let him go, but if he's out there, the Oilers should certainly take a look at him.

I've been thinking of why people don't want to play in edmonton and its twofold; the city and the team.

This city, like it or not, is a dump. Mudville. It is not a very attractive city plain and simple. The team, well with all these blunders, players like to play for winners. Edmonton is not even close to a winner.

In order for them to even have a bit of respectability, they have to build by drafting. Maybe the new arena would actually wipe some of the grime off Edmonton.

I think those penciling in Hall or Sequin will be disappointed. I think Carolina and Toronto are worse and the Oil will go on a bit of a win streak for 3 or 4 games a couple of times for the rest of the season, similar to what they did at the beginning. That'll take them out of the running. They may still get close enough for Fowler but I'm not even sure of that. If by some chance we're in 3rd last, how much do you want to bet someone higher won't win the lottery and push the Oil to 4th and out of the race? Maybe I'm just cynical but, that's life after 30 years of the Oilers...

There's no chance for MPS to be in an Oilers uniform next year.

I can only hope that Eberle plays in the AHl next year.

What's wrong with you people?!? We don't have the cap space to sign anyone worthy of playing with Eberle or MPS so why should we waste their time having them on our team?

Do you want them to suffer what Gagner did?

Here's what I would like to see, and its seems plausible too:

Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky
Hall-Gagner-Cogliano
Potulny-Cullen-Pisani
Jacques-Brule-Stortini

Extras: Pouliot,Stone

Hamhuis-Gilbert
Smid-Visnovsky
Grebeshkov-Staios
Some kind of Strudwick-like guy.

Khabibulin
JDD or perhaps a guy like Renne. Someone with some upside anyway.

I'd love to see some success on the farm. And bring up some winners.

"With the 2nd pick in the draft, the Edmonton Oilers are extremely proud to select....from the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League...Tyler Seguin."

and so the re-build begins....

Penner-Gagner-Hemsky
Brule-Seguin-Eberle
Stone-Horcoff-Potulny
Jacques-Moore-Stortini

Visnovsky-Smid
Boullion-Gilbert
Peckham-Staios
Chorney

Khabby
JDD

MPS stays in Sweden cause he makes more than going to the AHL, Omark doesn't crack the line-up and goes back to the KHL....Pisani, Moreau, Souray and Grebs all gone for picks and prospects...management makes Nilsson disappear

Not to pick on you exclusively, but some of the defences some posters are throwing out there are just bruuuuutal. The chances of the Oilers dealing both Souray and Visnovsky are basically nil, and there's no way they go into next season with guys like Arsene and Strudwick penciled anywhere near the opening day roster.

That defense gets murdered. The Oilers will not trade both Souray and Lubo. One of those two is kept and my spinny senses say the Lubo will be kept. Why is the world would you keep Strudwick over Lubo or Grebeshkov. In my world, Strudwick is history after this season. You cannot under any circumstances have rookie defenseman with the big team. It's be worse than this season. Now that I think of it. This whole lineup is a mess and will get you a draft lottery team.

But players go there because the team wins. You can have one with the other, but you can't be lacking both.
