I'm a history major, and while it obviously won't secure you a job right out of school (as opposed to say, engineering) it's still a good degree when you complement it with something like Economics. Plus, you become an expert at Trivial Pursuit and Jeopardy. How can you argue with those results?
More important than either of these is bar trivia.

I actually agree. I did major in history, now Im at law school.
My work replaced my 15' LCD display with a 24' Widescreen 1080pHD LCD display and I just want to say I feel like I am staring at a television screen all day.
In a way, because I am.
I turned the brightness way the **** down so I don't go blind. This is madness.
Who the **** can afford to goto 4 years of undergrad then law school? I wish my mommy and daddy paid for my ****ing education.
I'd imagine copious amounts of student loans would normally fund that path.
I worked 40 hour weeks during my undergrad and graduated with a modest studnet loan debt that I paid off after barely a year out of school. Had I continued into Law School, like I had initially intended, I would almost certainly have worked much less and probably funded the degree with another loan. No financial assistance from the parents in this case, and it still would have been feasible.
Naturally. Trivia nights at bars are, of course, most entertaining to hear the names of various teams.
I'm actually entering a Commerce graduate program to go along with a bachelor degree in history. Hooray grad school.
I had a friend who went to the same trivia night every week. The team was two straight friends and one of them had a gay cousin, and the trivia night was in a gay bar. So what do they call themselves?
Team Shocker, as in two of them are for pink and one of them is for......not-pink

Go to Iraq and kill some brown people. I rack up loans for the hell of it. I mean, The PA National Guard will pay off 50k in loans. I don't need 50k in loans. So, I pocket the money.

Glad you did it but id rather just take the loans out and pay it off then give up more time once I graduate. Just checked my loans and im $200K in debt.

I'm at like $105k and I have two more years of law school to add in at least $100k more.
by the way... i had a **** filled day, but somehow made an extra $300 due to China's need for Cu. Might as well abuse the liver, that good ol' punching bag. I love you.
Won't that end up being like 1500 a month in student loans?
...then you go get a job that does something about loans as part of the package. A friend of mine is a city DA...part of the deal is that they're taking care of some of his loans.
I work at an IP firm and most of the attorneys are pretty cool, if not nerdy guys.
There are some d-bags though. Some big ones!
IP lawyers are nothing like other lawyers. You can't be a dbag if you're afraid to speak in public
disclosure: I'm likely to become an IP lawyer after I graduate.

I think it's a paycheck thing. Halfway through third year now and so far most of my class has avoided that.

You're making me feel a whole lot better about living with my parents during law school. I'm likely to only have like $125k in loans, $55k of which came from undergrad. Hooray (relative) fiscal responsibility! Boo lack of freedom.
