One of the dirtiest hits I've seen this year. Very obvious intent to injure but just because he wasn't injured they won't suspend Gonchar

Clutterbuck throws hits like that at least once every couple of games while hiding behind his visor.

Just a whining hypocrite is all.

Pretty much sums up Clutterbuck's entire style on the ice. Run around like an idiot, run his mouth all year, and then let Boogard and Scott fight his fights for him.

It was a dirty hit. Couldn't believe Gonch had it in him. He got the right penalty.

Although Clutter got his late hit in before that.

This is about as animated as I've ever seen Sergei Gonchar.

After winning the Cup last year, he lifted it, went to the dressing room by himself, and sat quietly. I'm not kidding.

Odd - Clutterbuck throws 5 minute major worthy hits every other game, yet he has 18 minutes in penalties - 9 minors. Leads the league in hits by far, but has only had 9 minor penalties all year. Something in what you are claiming is not adding up.

Just for the sake of arguement, if Clutterbuck ditches the visor can he keep making clearly acceptable hits like he has done over the coarse of his brief career?

Or should someone just inform Clutterbuck he can no longer check because he wears the visor?

Interesting arguement. Funny we've never seen no where the same point being thrown about when talking about Dustin Brown. Sure, Brown is a higher end overall talent, but the game he plays is strikingly similar.

I don't particularly like Clutterbuck but I don't find that to be the case. He throws a ton of solid hits and occasionally they are a bit late, but I don't find him dirty at all. His comments are kinda stupid, but so what, it was pretty harmless and he was a bit heated. I don't really have a problem with Gonchar throwing that hit either. Obviously it was dirty, and he got 5 and a game, but lots of players like to send a message that he did.

You can't say that and expect no consequences.

Obviously not as late as Gonchar's (which was certainly a bit over the top, hence the penalty being handed out).

But the fact of the matter is Clutterbuck plays that type of game... whining about getting it back is pretty pathetic, and I have a hard time respecting a guy playing that kind of game while wearing a visor.

I'm very glad they don't play anymore games against each other. Clutterbuck is just the idiot to try and pull another Bertuzzi out there.

Yeah, the visor argument is pretty stupid.

We whine and complain in threads about visors and safety concerns that all players should have to wear visors so we don't get more injuries, but when a guy is willing to put on a visor to protect himself, he suddenly becomes less tough and able to protect himself?

Hey, the guy is annoying and I could very well see him throwing a stupid cheap hit to "get back" at Gonchar, but the fact that he wears a visor doesn't mean he isn't a great hitter.

Where are all the penalty minutes then?

Just because he hits guys on your favorite team doesn't make him a cheap player...

He does talk trash but that's about as dirty as he gets. And the visor thing is a joke...it's only brought up by people who have only seen when Don Cherry called him out on it. Try watching a few more games with him in it...

I wouldn't have announced it I was Clutterbuck. I would have tried to catch Gonchar off guard.

Clutterbuck is ****ing awesome. I love his confidence. It's a healthy kind of arrogance, if you catch my drift.

This comment is a bit loopy, but I can't bring myself to dislike the way he plays.
