Pretty sure Tambo is the main guy doing the day to day, but from what I gather and Lowe did mention it they talk about trades together. Pretty sure that it's not just the two of them either. Quinn is probably involved as well.

More than likely. That's why its funny that any one person is singled out. It is basically like being the Prime Minister or the Mayor. They are jsut there to appease the public and media with their title. They all work together in getting stuff done this group would include fanboy Katz.

Probably Prendegast and Ojdik as well.

Well at least Katz's opinions don't cost us that much, unless of course he was saying no to the third line centers and shutdown d-man and yes to Bulin. Comrie in the long run doesn't cost us that much same if Laraque is brought in next year.

Glencross wasn't coming back. You don't need to believe me but I had a decent source that has insider info and I was told during the playoffs that Glencross wouldn't be coming back.

Darn. I spelled his name wrong. It was Rick Olczyk, Ed's brother.

Doesn't sound believeable since both sides were clearly negotiating. Oilers walked away because they had their annual big fish chase to attend to.

Heard a rumour that Glencross was seen with a Flames jersey prior to July 1.

I heard a rumor that Pronger actually wanted out because I gave his wife HIV.

Source also told me Pitkanen was gone and that Hossa was going to be a huge target.

This all looks great in hindsight. Tell us some stuff your source is saying prior to it happening if you wanna build street cred.

Not saying your full of bs I'm just saying why were there open reports of the two side negotiating?

Also Brownlee told us to expect Pitkanen to be gone and I think every Oiler fan knew they were gonna go hard after Hossa.

Free up $16M+ like so:

Trade Gilbert - $4M
Trade Moreau (anaheim wants him) - $2M
Trade/Waive Staios - $2.7M
Trade/Waive Nilsson - $2M
Let Pisani walk - $2.5M
Move O'Sullivan - $2.925M

Re-sign the rest, acquire a shutdown/physical d-man or two, faceoff/pk guy, and call it a day.

Everyone's always talking about moving the big dough, Souray, Visnovsky, Horcoff... I say hang on to Visnovsky at all costs, preferably hang on to Souray (our new captain), and well... Horcoff is virtually untradeable, but that is fine.

I think the moves listed above aren't EASY, no, but they are doable.

Call it what you will but it does happen once a year. If only the actual hockey team knew of consistency like this.

Normally I'd rather have them inconsistently losing games than consistently losing games, but I guess in this case I agree since we have to dive! dive! dive!

So then fill us in on some Wild transactions.

When you hear these types of things in the first or second round of the playoffs it makes you think.

I know no one will believe me but my source was pretty accurate for a few years.

That article paints the Oilers to be one of the, if not the worst franchises in the entire NHL, coupled with the fact that due to half a dozen bad contracts, they have an even worse future going ahead. It's hard to argue with their assessment as this point in time. The numbers simply don't lie. They are playing poorly, they have one of the highest payrolls in the league, and they have some of the worst contracts in the league.

Right now, guys that are not playing up to their contracts are...

Horcoff
Khabibulin
POS
Gilbert
Grebs
Nilsson
Pisani
Moreau
Staios

and the following guys are question marks due to current performance, or age, or injury, or past performance, or combination of those things...

Penner
Souray
Visnovsky

There is no doubt this team is in trouble. The things this team has going for it...

Some good young talent - Gagner, Cogs, Eberle, MPS, Smid, maybe Hall/Segin
A die hard. loyal fan base and a sold out building, after 3 horrible seasons
injuries to key players (Hemsky, Khabibulin, etc)
A very rich owner who wants to win

Hopefully this rich owner will grow a pair and get rid of the management and those responsible for the mess the team is in. Also, the owner's money could help a great deal, as some of those horrible contracts could be hid in the minors. Bottom line is, things need to change, the last 4 years have been nothing short of a disaster.

At this point, no one wants Gilbert or POS, and I doubt ANH wants Moreau. Gilbert and POS are making a combined 7 million, they should be making a combined 3 or 4 million. This team is a mess right now, plain and simple.

I have to ask what makes Toronto in any better shape then Edmonton? They have very little offensive potential, they don't have any first rounder for the next couple years and they are slightly better then us in the standings?

Our team may be worse then theirs right now, but at least we have potential going forward.

It's just TSN taking the spotlight off of Toronto who is in a worse spot.
