That's like arguing which team is worse, the Oilers or the Hurricanes. They both suck.

If the Oilers finish 30, they can't draft lower than 2nd overall. It's either Seguin or Hall.

Burke has given up a 2nd for Todd Feddoruk, and 3rd round picks for Brad May, and Jamal Mayers.

I doubt he'd even bat an eye at giving up a 2nd or 3rd for Moreau.

Oh yes, that's right.

I'd rather draft 1st overall though. It's time a western team won the draft lottery. Since the draft lottery was started in 1995, only 3 times has a western team won the draft lottery.

No doubt.

I like Petry, I think he has solid #3 potential. Chorney and Peckham on the other hand could turn into a solid 3rd pairing. I don't see the huge hype behind them, but I think they should peak into NHLers.

Going forward I see a solid #2 in Smid, #3 and #4 in a combo of Gilbert/Grebs/Petry. We should be able to get a #5/6/7 out of Peckham/Chorney/Plante/Motin. What we lack is a #1. Cam Fowler has that written all over him. Honestly, I think Fowler is the safest pick of the three so if he is our consolation prize I'm fine with that.

If in 3 years our defence is the following and they maintain their progressions I would be okay with.

Fowler - Smid
Grebeshkov/Gilbert - Petry
Chorney - Peckham
Plante/Motin

Kevin Lowe has signed Horcoff to a ridiculous 6 year contract and followed it up with Khabibulin's contract, and could have likely traded for Penner but blew off three draft picks instead/ and handed out dumb contracts like candy on Halloween.

looks lie a sawoff at best.

Who wouldn't?
But you know how Gary feels about Canadian teams.
If a sunbelt team has a shot, he would much rather give it to them.

Last time I checked, Tambellini signed Khabibulin. And I'm done talking about Horcoff with you.

For the thousandth time, stop blaming Lowe for the Khabbi contract. It was Tambellini that signed Khabbi.

Does anyone have any proof to who negotiated, and offered the deal?
Otherwise, why argue about it?
Bad contract for both, we know, move on.

Last time I checked Lowe still had the final stamp of approval on any deal and I wonder why you don't want to tell me why Horcoff is among the best first line centres in the league.

Need some numbers?

Information I got today was that it wasn't.

Lowe's fingerprints are still all over the team.

For the thousanth time...tell me what your plan is to fix the Oilers.

Is it all the fans fault?

Lowe and Burke both suck, the end. Moo's analogy was bang on.

Carolina I expect will blow by us soon because of one reason. They have the goaltending. Cam Ward is a top 5 goalie in this league, and he'll be the difference, as long as he can stay healthy.

Tambo has said we'll run with the 2 young guys in net for the rest of the year. I expect they'll get a bit better as they obtain more experience, but we'll still lose a whack of games because of them.

The Oil in a landslide. Relax folks, 1st overall is ours.
Well, the Canes are only TWO points behind now. Was it 12 a month ago? The Oil are pathetic and the help is not coming (the only players who could help are Hemsky and Habibulin and they are out for the year).

Carolina only need to get 3 more points than the Oilers the rest of the way, which they should be able to do. They are a better team than they have been so far this year (Ward, Staal, Whitney should win them some games).

Honestly, at this point I am more worried about losing the lottery. But top 3 pick is guaranteed either way, I think.

dont be anticipating a top 5 pick. Bettman will pass a new rule that says if you win the draft lottery you actually move DOWN 6 spots.
In fine print it'll say "Does not apply to American teams"

If that happens, Bettman should be canned.

Great player and he is going to be a stud. But, all our efforts will have gone to waste if we don't get Hall/Seguin.
