Sometime at the beginning of this year I began to feel that Mitchell's obviously steep 1.3mil contract was more of a benevolent gesture on DW's part rather than a shrewd managerial move. A small "handout" to a kid who's professional career, and the millions of dollars that come with it, were potentially in danger. Thankfully it isn't, but I can't fault Wilson for that figure because I believe there is more to that 1.3mil than just player salary.

$1.3MM is hazard pay for playing on a line with Shelley and Staubitz.

Another bad DW contract. At least Mitchell looks like he is starting to get his game back.

The last two games he has been much better but he still needs to start putting up points here and there. I wish the Sharks had enough Salary to do a Mitchell Ginny Staubitz line or something like.
