If all those players were at their prime at the time, it would be decent. Unfortunately, players like Lindros and Messier were a shell of their former selves.
That defense is just sad. Worse than the forwards, IMO.
2000-2009 was not a good decade to be a Rangers fan...

Sather came on board in 2000 and this is the best decade team we can come up with.
7 of the 22 were homegrown.

So wait what? I have been insulted because I picked Tortorella over Renney because "Tortorella hasn't been here long enough to be the coach of the decade" yet Marian Gaborik , who has been here less than Tortorella makes the team?
Yes logic at it's finest. Hypocrites.

I didn't want to say how geriatric that team looks, but it seems I'm not the only one to think so.
It really is very telling, haha.

It's funny that Gabs and Bure are on there. Both have only played just over half a season for the Rangers. God it was a dismal decade....

We had the same debate about length of service during the voting for Gaborik and Bure.

I love it. Everyone wants him out yet Rosival has been one of our top 4 D-man for the decade.
Understandable. I would have voted for him if I participated in this but it's funny what a contract can do to a players image.

In his brief tenure, Gaborik has scored more goals than all but two players in the league. Tortorella, on the other hand, has lost more games than he's won as a coach, and instituted an "offense first" system that has scored the 5th fewest goals in the league.
Still want to compare the two?
