Rangers Prospect Poll: #10

For the first time, the winner of a round failed to take the majority of the vote. With 40.70% of the vote Ethan Werek was declared the winner. On the other hand, the vote for a prospect to be added had Hagelin winning over 65%

The vote for the prospect to be added to the poll was:
(Based on the HF guidelines of who's a prospect: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/whatmakesaprospect)

Hagelin: 17
Byers: 5
Kundratek: 3
Kveton: 1

This is round 10, so this is your last chance to get your favorite remaining prospect on our "Top Prospects" list. From 11 to 20, will be our "Second-Tier" and 21-30 will be "Projects & Suspects".

Don't forget to vote who should be added this round and mention why you are voting for the guy you are voting for.

TOP PROSPECTS

1. D Michael Del Zotto
2. C Artem Anisimov
3. LW Evgeny Grachev
4. C Derek Stepan
5. D Bobby Sanguinetti
6. D Ryan McDonagh
7. LW Chris Kreider
8. D Matt Gilroy

Went with Hagelin because he's the only one with potential to become a game-breaker. Guys like Heineken and Sauer maybe be NHL-ready, but I don't see them as being above average NHLers. Hagelin may never make it, but if he does, he may well be a top-6 forward.

Also, our LW looks very solid going forward: Grachev, Kreider, Hagelin, Bourque, Horak, Byers, Doyle, Dupont, as well as goons Didiomete and Soryal. That's 10 prospects plus Dubinsky will likely be moved to the left wing sooner rather than later. As soon as Anisimov is ready for second line duty and Stepan for the third line, Dubinsky will be on the left wing, where he's more comfortable than the center.

Our defense is an embarrassment of riches, and our centers (Anisimov, Stepan, Werek, Boyle) are solid.

The only weak position we have is the RW. Only Dale Weise and David Kveton are solid prospects, with maybe Parenteau as a potential future NHLer. On the other hand, our NHL RWs (Gabby, Cally, Lisin) are all young, so we really only need to add just one more RW of similar quality to Callahan or better. Will Weise be that guy? Kveton?

All things being equal, I would definitely want Slats to draft an offense-oriented right-winger this June. Someone like Kreider, but on the other side of the ice.

Sauer. Could very easily be Girardi's replacement next season. Add Kundtratek.

Given what I've seen from Ocho Cinco, it's got to be him. I'm amazed at how well he's done so soon. Perhaps the biggest riser between our last poll and now.

Add Byers - should be a no brainer at this point. Unless Kundratek has been lighting up the WHL when I wasn't looking?

I will count it as an 85 vote when we tally it up.

Heikkenen, add Byers.

Had trouble deciding between Sauer and Beer, but I've seen more of Heikkenen.

He couldn't crack the AHL squad, went back to the CHL as an overage player and has only been decent. I was a big fan of his at one point, but his relative lack of progress is concerning.

I'm high on Bourque even though he doesnt boast size. I think hes going to surprise people the next few years, similar to how Callahan did.
