Nice to see Brown visible these past few games.
Glad #11 was there to put it one away by anticipating the play. He has been covered well by other teams. I think the key to his success will be his ability to overcome that.

We're lucky Quick is this good. LA wouldn't be in the hunt if it wasn't for him.

Next game is against the Sharks. Looking forward to it.

He looks like he'll be having surgery on something or other as soon as the season is over. I'm just hoping he makes it that long. He's been a step or two slow for several weeks now - and it wasn't gradual.

I am not buying injury. I am buying endurance. It's easy to come out like gangbusters especially when he worked harder this offseason to get in better shape. The bumps, bruises and the length of the season is wearing on him. He looks winded. I know that look. It looks like me after every shift

Odie seemed to leave his side to take the guy who cut across the center of the ice. It left Jack with a whole crap load of room between him and Satan, he could have done a bit better closing that gap, but Odie shouldn't have rushed that play.

Kopi had a solid 1st period, a horrible second and a good third.

I didn't notice Frolov after the first.

Richardson, I noticed. When he is on the ice, he is in every play. I am so impressed by his stick handling skills along the boards. He's a little thief.

Doughty did cost us that second goal (or was it the third goal) but on the other hand, if he had intercepted, lookout cookout!

Give Sean a therapy day.

The powerplay just needs to move. It stands still. There is nothing wrong with the point shot, but don't telegraph the damn thing 10 seconds before you do it. Nobody is moving their feet. I would rather have Doughty playing QB as he has the best lateral movement out there from the point. We also need that one timer to Stoll more often. He is made for that cross ice shot.

Did Segal skate a shift after his fight? Was he hurt?

Jones is quite possibly one of the worst NHL defenseman the Kings have ever had.

I don't know what to think of Jack's defense on the 1st goal. He gave the forward so much time and space. Close the gap. I don't necessarily want to see an open ice hit, but good grief, don't let Lucifer just have a free shot.

When Kopitar goes to the net (front of the net), good things happen.

When Kings win, better things happen.
Really? So you didnt see that rediculous pass he made to brown on that second goal?

Probably because inter-mixed with some nuggets of gold are head-scratchers like you wanting Brown to be benched for the Anaheim game.

Brown will be just fine. The problem is some fans that put unrealistic expectations on Brown - probably because his coach placed some grandiose scoring expectations on him at the start of the season that would be virtually impossible for him to achieve. Since the coach was showering Brown with unachievable expectations.. fans may as well too. The coach is back down to earth and most fans are as well.

Captains don't need to be god-like players who can do everything on the ice and broker world peace off it. Ours just happens to be a hard-hitting gritty 2nd-3rd line winger that finally is on a line that works for the style he plays and has a coach that's finally backed off of the unrealistic scoring expectations on him. What do you know.. he's playing well.

Only speculation on my part. Reaper mentioned an incident a while back and I think it's money. Kopitar went hard into the boards back-first during a game a few weeks back and he's been a step or two slower ever since.

I'd get on the fatigue bandwagon if the drop off in his on-ice speed were more gradual. It really seemed sudden. There was nothing really gradual about it... hence why I think he's playing hurt, but it's just a hunch... no secrets I found out about at Taco Bell.

Telos has given me a warning. Don't worry. I should have noted it was just a hunch.

I was furious over that consecutive 5-3 PP epic fail. However, the team responded well. The two guys we needed to step up, stepped up. Can't ask for much more than that. Great game.

Is that Taco Bell still open? I thought they closed it due to health code violations.

I'd have to look at it again but IIRC,the D was staggered (not parallel) with JJ starting off further back to begin with, maybe too far back. So when the man in OD's lane crosses, and he sees no D-man close to him, he needs to cover that man or leave a gap that size for both players. I think OD made the right play, and JJ was too far back and didnt take away his mans time and space coming into the zone. At their level you can NOT give a player that much room entering the zone.

To top it all off, the shot was an excellently well placed shot "dinking" the post on its way into the net!

It's hard to imagine after a great win against the bruins, some posters still focus on the negativity.

I know the bruins were beat up with injuries but it was still a great win for us.

Bring on them sharx!

According to Hammond, that puck simply "squirted out" to Brown, once again proving that you only see what you want to see.

I looked at the replay too, but Stoll was coming off the bench and Jack would have been play the pass if O'Donnell left it it to him, but he didn't.

Right when Odie makes that shift he leaves too much room for Jack to cover.

I was at the game yesterday so here are my bizarro observations:

1) Frolov makes Brown look effective. Yeah Brown has played better but that's because #26 and #24 tend to slow down and simplify the game down for him.

2) Brown can only score 5 hole. Guess what Dustin, keep shooting between the legs because frankly your shot is pretty bad going for the top corners.

3) Anze and Doughty could have easily lost us that game in 20 seconds during the 2nd period. Anze flubbed that EASY clearing pass and Doughty right after that 2nd goal was way too aggressive and lost his player which lead to Boston goal #3.

4) Johnson I thought had a great game defensively along with Scuderi.

5) Harrold is way too small to be an effective NHL defenseman.

6) Randy Jones is not good on defense.

i don't remember ever saying that i wanted him benched for the Anaheim game. but in retrospect, it worked with Frolov.

and for some reason, that one wasn't considered a head-scratcher.

thats ********. watch it again. Frolov clearly gets to that puck and passes it out to the slot.
