seeing how absolutely flagrant that was, even from that angle, I would have little compunction about tossing the guy out for the rest of the season! DISGUSTING is too euphemistic

That hit was disgusting. I read in another thread that Quebec is filing criminal charges on Cormier.

I hope he is ok...anyone have a report? I need to google this. He appeared to be having a seizure. Cormier should never play hockey again. That was as bad as Bertuzzi as well as MacSorley.

Yup.

Hockey is a rough sport, a physical sport and even a violent one, but when players go out of their way to actually hurt a fellow player, with no other intent in mind - that player should never play the game again.

"Quebec's atheltic therapist said he feared he would lose him when Tam stopped breathing for 30 seconds after he got him out of the ice."

This was a translated quote from another article

Lot of mixed emotions, mostly just rage and sorrow and I don't even know the victim. As hard nosed as I tend to be toward such things, I really hope the different leagues have an unspoken black balling of this player.

No one should be allowed to have the dream of being paid and paid well to play a sport if this is how they're going to treat other human beings with similar aspirations. Tam may very well never play hockey again. He could very well recover on a physical level and lead a healthy life, but I just can't imagine the psychological trauma. Or maybe he doesn't remember anything from it. I don't know.

I hope Tam recovers quickly and God help Cormier because that may be all he's going to have left when all this plays out.

I just finished posting on the prospects thread on this issue and going back and forth with some of the dumbest NJ fans that I did not care to know ever existed...good times.

This poor kid. I will be following Tam's health daily if I can on the internet. This breaks my heart.

Some people just don't get it... its very sad to see.

I searched that whole thread to find updates on the kids health and all i found was a bunch of angry emotions. I think people just need to forget about what the suspension should be and hockey all together and just hope this kid will lead a normal life again.

There's been an update, but you won't see more for some time now that the immediacy of life and death has passed and the kid should recover. Now whether he'll play again is still in jeopardy even if he does fully recover. It's not just physical trauma that can keep a guy out but also the psychological.

And its crazy that there are Devils fans on both Fourms saying **** like "put the pitchforks and laterns away"

I remember when Domi did somthing with less severity to it to Neidermayer they wanted Domi to never play again.

Some people really make me sick to my stomach.

Just finished reading some of the comments on the prospects thread too, and some idiot fan was actually more concerned about Cormier resting for the playoffs, and how Cormier will make the Devils a better team in the future. Un-FREAKIN-believable! Possibly one of the worst cheap shots I have ever seen. And like someone else mentioned, he did this TWICE in the WJC! RU4REALS!

Abominable is in the dictionary for a purpose. That purpose is now to define Cormier as a human being.

I knew he was a pest and a general *****, but this crosses lines that I completely agree should result in the NHL refusing to approve any contract a team wants him to sign (or void any he may have signed already).

I can only hope this turns out to be nothing wholly life altering for Tam.

They did the same thing after the hit on Rodin at the WJC. Alot were saying oh it was just a hockey play and that its ok because it sends a message to the other player was my favorite one.

I would much prefer a very outspoken blackballing. Starting with NJ coming out and saying that he'll never play for the Devils and that they want him out of their organization. That was sickening and has no place in hockey at any level. I hope they do file criminal charges against him.
