There simply is no statistic that portrays Horcoff in a positive light this year. Dumb or otherwise. If all the Rhodes Scholars can come up with is on ice save % you know that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

As far as the edit goes, I'm doing my best to assume the best about people.
I would assume you are doing your best to ride the edge of the site rules. Lets face it, when you attack someone's intelligence on here, assuming the best about them is the last thing you are doing.

If you look at the guys who are at the extremes at the half season, you'll find that they can be expected to be virtually the same over the following half season. I don't know how you can get around that.

FWIW - the SF/60 at 5v5 with Horcoff on the ice is 25.5. The SA/60 is 25.6. So, not entirely sure what you're driving at there. I've sat down and sifted through Horcoff's goals against and I have a hard time blaming him for very many of them. David Staples reviews all of the goals and he's come to the same conclusion.

I don't put much faith in what Staples does, either. Too many variables, too many small plays that turn into massive issues to get it right.

To me, if a Goaltender is stopping "fewer" pucks behind one guy than the other - it says one of two things

1) The Goaltenders teammates in question are making more errors, some blatant, some minor

2) The Goaltenders teammates are facing higher quality opponents who generate higher percentage scoring chances.

Now, Horcoff is playing against the best and he's doing it a lot. No shock there. But he's better than -21 and yet he's still -21. To me, there's nobody to blame with the teams collective average quite a bit better than Horcoff. Somethings gone wrong with him.

Everybody on this board should know I'm not a hater by any metric. But you live by the sword, you die by it and a 3.7 GA/60 and -21 rating are inexcusable.

I sincerely hope he rebounds and believe he's capable of it.

I think that is something we can all get behind.

Nice to see Hartikainen having a great year. One of our more underrated prospects this year.

As long as they know the difference between flu-like symptoms and concussion-like symptons.

Brule was suppose to be tested as he has been ill far too often this year, not sure whatever happened with that.
