I came across this interesting stat today. it is based off the number of games that the player has scored a point in. I am surprised to see that malkin and Crosby have the same level of consistency as each other (in scorcing points, not over all game play.)
Staal has a rating of 0.54% so not overall bad for a person on the third line and 2nd power play.
Guerin has 0.54 as well. BUT not to happy with first line minutes, 1st power play .. but consistency the same as staal.
Sort of a weird stat. I mean, a player who scored one point every other game is put on the same pedestal as a player who could score 4 in a night and then be blanketed the next as teams key in on him.
It's interesting, but I'm really not sure what it measures except that some players are streaky, and that Crosby and Malkin are equally as streaky, except when Crosby's been on, he's been way more prolific than Malkin.
