Its the silly midnight rule stopping me. I get up at 5am, I can't stay up till midnight during the week. I feel like such an old lady writing that. If I wasn't getting up to teach fitness classes it would be different, I could be sluggish all for the love of the Oil and a GDT. I will do some work though so it will be ready for a day when we are missing a thread.

*sigh* well this is probobly the easiest game the Canucks will get on paper this season... so far they've had nothing but problems with these games against low standing teams.

Game note:

Apparently Wellwood is not playing and Bernier will be back in:

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Raymond-Kesler-Bernier
Glass-Demitra-Samuelsson
Hordichuk-Rypien-Hansen

Are apparently the lines for tonight.

Even if the Oilers don't manage to start winning like the usually do once it's too late, then you'll be unlucky and be a last place team that draws the 3rd or 2nd overall pick since it is a lottery and not guaranteed.

Altho who am I to say that. I think the Oilers and the Jackets are probably the two most cursed teams in the league

My philosophy has always been:

If we are going to lose to the Canucks, we had better at least spill some Canuck blood.

Yes, but the flip side of this argument is that there are no viable scenarios where we will finish with a pick lower than 3rd overall ....

.... and there just happen to be 3 franchise-calibre prospects in this draft.

We picked a great year to suck.

ETA: Not even Lowe can screw this up!

Who's Sedin and why is he playing twice on your top line at the same time simultaneously? Nice try with Kesler, we all know Kesler plays with Toronto. No way they'd trade him, except maybe if NYR offered Montoya.

Maybe Horcoff will drop the mitts with Mason Raymond.

one of the few times I'll be cheering FOR the Oil tonight....so it's a win-win!

Win and we embarrass the Nucks for losing to the 2nd worst team in the league

lose and it's one step closer to Hall/Seguin!

isn't it true that the worse we perform the less value our individual players have? why don't we pull a toronto at this point and go all offense and ignore defence? if we lose , thats okay.. but we pad our players stats and get some value. lets do it?

Is this game pre-empting the actual game we care about right now... that being the CHL all-star game. GO TEAM CHERRY!

Oh by the way Oilers lose 4-1, Hordichuk gets 2.

Yeah, and what's funny now is that I actually am starting to make friends. Never had one before this year.

Nice.

At the time I'm writing this, the Oilers and Canucks are tied 0-0. With that score, it already looks grim.

They should be able to hang in there until about 8:10 pm.

Things are looking up.

And TheCaptainEthanMoreau will jump every canuck because he blames them for making him score on his own net.

Maybe Wellwood drops them with Gilbert?

I'm not sure I wanna see Gilbert taken out on a stretcher though.....
