OMG! That's the ****iest deal that could Gainey made. Brunnstrom is so soft. We need size and grit. Brunnstrom has only one goal this year. How could we improved our hockey club with a one goal guy and a goalie who gives puck on tape to the players of other team. No thanks!
With Columbus in turmoil once again they could be up for a change.
With Laraque gone all the idiots in our division our going to run roughshot on our players, at least Boll can skate and will fight anyone, heavywight or featherweight.
No way in a million years Kovalchuk ends up here AND signs a contract with us, we don't have the cap space anyways but just for fun that would be the price to get him (with Kovy agreeing to a contract) IMO:
With Sanford and Desjardins in the wings waiting for a shot, IF we were to get a backup, he'd have to have a lot of experience maybe a former starter or else what's the point. Only one who I can think falls in that category is Turko.
Whoever we get for Halak, it will be another bad trade by Gainey, that's a fact.
I still hope the Moslons will fire Gainey before he commits another mistake, but right now, sadly, it looks like he'll continue to dig the hole...
It sucks cause I like Gainey(the player and person) but not the GM and I agree with you that if the Molson's think that he is not the man for this job then they gotta get rid of him ASAP without making another move.Let the new GM decide what he wants to do and in which direction with which players
I am told Halak will be the starter tonight for the Canadiens, and that there is a deal the Habs are "seriously" considering. My source in Montreal added, "A backup would be coming back as part of the package, but this very well could be one of, if not Halak's final game as a Hab."
Please no "I can't believe this clown" or " Stop making Eklund thread". It is still fun to discuss
PS Sorry if it was already posted. Mods you can delete it if it was.

You're right, Sheldon Souray is a better hockey player than me. Which is why I'm posting on HFBoards and he's getting paid millions for us to post about him.
i hope gainey realizes that his value will most likley go up after the olympics
Halak's value will be at his peak right after the olympics. Gainey would be stupid to trade him before the trade deadline unless gives him an amazing package.
And how can we not call Eklund a clown? Guy has had the habs finalizing a trade every week for the last 3 years. Guy drives me nuts.
The way we can make the Kovalchuk deal work is if Atlanta takes Hamrlik or Gomez from us and since Hamrlik only has one season left on his contract, it would be him.
To Montreal:
Ilya Kovalchuk
To Atlanta:
Roman Hamrlik + Andrei Kostitsyn + Sergei Kostitsyn + Matt D'Agostini

That didnt stop anyone before... Laraque didnt do anything to prevent it or fix it
