Unless the Caps buy his contract out, yes. Best thing for his development would probably be to play those two years for Traktor and then see where he is in terms of his play.

Two problems with this: 1) There has to be a buyout clause in his contract; 2) I believe NHL teams are forbidden from buying out a KHL player's contract - the player must buyout his own contract. At least, this was the case for Tarasenko.

The maple leafs were fined $500,000 and a 4th round pick for helping Jonas Frogan buy out his contract in 2009.

I love this pick. Mcphee has been learning how to draft of late (or the caps are getting better scouts), but still needs work on his day to day responsibilities. If he pulls the trigger and gets a missing piece at the deadline and the caps do what they should, all will be forgiven.

I read he has an injury. I believe it was a shoulder injury, but will have to double-check.

"Gold, the color of victory" sounds like something Dwight Schrute would say.

Whoever was responsible for those pictures at the draft should be fired.

What's the dream of your career?
To become a hockey player and go to Canada
Does he mean play on a Canadian team or just play a game in Canada? This guy fell on draft day cause the "Russian factor" so if its the former I'm pissed that the Murrays refuse to draft Russian players cause is exactly the type of forward prospect our hockey team needs

There are so many failed NHL picture themes it's hilarious. Even if they aren't downright awful (the curtain one, the US Olympic set) they're just laughably melodramatic (the recent "Player standing in dark room while looking dramatically at camera").

What a draft for Russians. Burmistrov is already in the NHL and being successful. Tarasenko is almost guaranteed to be a solid player and I personally think that Kabanov will make it. He doesn't seem like a bad kid. Just immature.
