Seriously, people need to stop visiting the site. Force them to get real sources and turn into a legitimate news source or to go out and get real jobs. Because right now, there are actually retarded people out there paying for this and giving these guys livelihoods of just sitting around and throwing darts at a dartboard.

These guys have the greatest jobs on earth. They sit around and make stuff up about our favorite sport, and get paid to do it. They are the hockey tabloids. There is no logical reason whatsoever to be giving these people money...

Reading that, just wow. There is no way that conversation took place with somebody else, especially somebody who has supposedly been around the game for 30 yrs. I am willing to bet this was Ek talking to himself. Just brutal.

He was eating in front of the mirror again while talking to himself. Probably in the bathroom. Where else would you make crap in your house?

if kovalchuck was going to come to Toronto it wouldn't be via trade.

Exactly.

If we were to get him, it would be on July 1.
A trade this season, not gonna happen.

Let me add; Talent wise, NOBODY needs him more than the Leafs.

NO. the notion of kovalchuk to the leafs is simply rediculous. The leafs will not give up kadri, schenn, or kessel, and they cant get kovalchuk without those assets.

The price for Joe Thornton:

27 year old forward with a career high of 48 points
29 year old forward with a career high of 29 points
26 year old defenseman with a career high of 39 points

Matt Stajan - 26 year old forward with a career high of 55 points
Alexei Ponikarovsky - 29 year old forward with a career high of 61 points
Ian White - 25 year old defenseman on pace for 39 points

Leafs win!

So lets say by some miracle the Leafs pick up Kovalchuk.

Who do they put between him and Kessel? Stajan?

Kovalchuk would play with Grabovski (assuming he doesn't go to Atl), and Kessel would play with either Bozak or Kadri (assuming they don't go to Atl). Of course, I assume they'd have a new coach by then. Otherwise, Ron Wilson would play Rickard Wallin between them and give him 24 minutes/night.

No Marleau.

Kovalchuk - Marleau - Kessel = 150 goals.

Can they play 40 minutes a game? 'Cause you're going to want to keep the rest of the Marlies off the ice as much as possible.

lol this totally sounds like a made up quote
The entire thing looks made up. I'm usually not one to bash Eklund since I just see him as entertainment but this is 100% made up BS.

20 ????????

If Kovy is going to the Leafs he will ask for 11 at least.
Marleau will ask for 8 at least and Kessel is fixed at 5.4

that's 24.5 millions

Enough is enough. Time to ban this clown as a source and block his website.

I'd love to hear this "history" of Russians being big players for the Leafs. Does it include future Leafs hall of famers such as Nikolai Borschevsky, Dmitri Mironov, Dmitri Yushkevich and Nik Antropov?

Reasons why Kovalchuk won't go to Toronto:

1.) He wants his privacy
2.) He wants to pay lower taxes
3.) He wants to play for a contender (ironic, I know)
4.) Antropov likes Atlanta now, so he will have told Kovy about TOR.
5.) Wilson. Is. Not. Kovy's. Kind. Of. Coach.
6.) He likes warm climates - Atlanta, and hangs out in Miami and in Southern France during the summer.
7.) He wants to kill Ian White.
8.) He wasn't friends with Exelby (not that that will matter much longer)
9.) Bogosian and Kane don't play for Toronto
10.) The Fried Chicken and Collard Greens in Toronto aren't all that.

Antropov was pretty fond of the city iirc.
