Not sure how all you guys were watching this, I have been refreshing the black berry for about the first 5 mins of the game, then stopped and figured I would watch the tape delay, now I got on here and see what happened
Oh well, still gonna watch, good to see the boys come out and play a great game.
Sadly, I missed the game. My DVR decided against recording it, likely due to the DirecTV glitch (DVR says the channel was not available). I'm glad to know they won though. I guess I'll just have to check out the highlights.
Time will tell, but a loss would have been a disaster. If the Preds had made 2-1 stand up, or added a third, it could have put this team in a tail spin, given how the goals were scored. One from behind the net and one on a terrible give away by Jovo. Given the road/home imbalance caused by this long home stand, and the way they lost to the Sabres, there would have been an overwhelming sense of "here we go again."
Schedule doesn't get any easier, but at a minimum, the train stayed on the tracks tonight.
The crowd was better than I thought it would be. Without many visiting fans it was up to the Yotes fans to fill the place. I would guess attendance around 8,000.
The defense did a better job tonight. Bryz faced 43 shots, but he really didn't have to stand on his head for many saves. The d kept most of the shots from outside.
WTF Jovo? I watched Z pass him the puck and it was like slow motion. I almost knew what was coming.
Bryz played much better tonight. I don't blame him for either goal. He didn't make many spectacular saves but looked solid all night.
We only had 23 shots on goal, but I thought did a better job in the offensive zone too. Quite a few near misses. Korpedo got a nice pass and was wide open but shot it right into Ellis' pads. Bissonettte took a great feed and had a wide open net. Not sure if he missed completely or was trying to pass, but it wasn't even close to the net.
I hope this is the start of turning things around. I was getting worried after watch the defense fall apart and bryz struggle.
