What's With All This Svatos Talk?

Eklund keeps pushing this garbage about Toronto being interested in Svatos. Why in the world would Burke be interested in this guy? I don't see how he's going to help the Leafs any. He's small, injury prone ad has a whopping 9pts. in 36 games. Oh yeah, and he is a -9 too.

Boy, I'd be pumped to get him into the line up. I know it's Eklund, but still, he has persisted in this rumour for a few years now. It can't be completely made up; there has to be something to this. Hopefully not!

One of those buy low type guys I'd guess. He has potential, clearly, so maybe he's one of those guys who needs a change of scenery, ala Pouliot and Lattandresse...

I've got no problem with Burke trying to get some of these guys who are struggling if the price is right, because who knows...maybe he's the next Rich Peverly

People seem to be stupid enough to give weight to Eklund's ********.

Ok smart ace, what's so hard to understand about this?

The most games he's played in a season, is 69 games. The most points he's accrued in a season, is 50 pts. (albeit, he scored 32 goals that year). That was also back in 2005 and the next best year he had, saw him finish with 37 points. Yep, he scored 26 goals that season, but still, 37 points isn't anything to get excited about. After those two seasons, it really drops off.

So he's a player who doesn't produce and is regularly injured each year, is small and doesn't play a physical style. Seems to me that he's buy low alright. Problem is, he also seems like a player that you get what you pay for.

You could take a chance on a guy like that and hope he turns it around, or you can give up good assets to get someone who's playing well, like Lee Stempniak!

Keyword: Burke.

No further explanation needed, really. Horrible GMs have the potential to make horrible moves.
