****... he is a fantasy stud for me. Sucks to hear but it is good that the Olympic break eats up some of his injury time.

Taylor Hall is a franchise player.

As for him becoming a "borderline" 1st liner, he can certainly be a very good 1st liner

have you seen his wheels? he had great hands but can use some work on the shot. he will be a very good first liner. 80-100 point potential

Even if that's the worst thing that you can say about his potential...another "borderline 1st liner" who we can have for years certainly doesn't sound like a bad thing. Add that to what we already have, and I'd say we'd be set with a pretty good core of forwards.

Sure, but who do you all think we'd be getting rid of? Are Weiss, Booth, Horton, etc untouchable (to the extent that anyone is)?

Why do we have to get rid of somebody if we draft Hall? All of our core players are pretty much here for the long-term.

Stillman and/or Reinprecht.

Both are veteran stop-gaps until we can get some legit young talent. We already have 4 good top 6 players in Booth, Weiss, Horton, and Frolik.

Hall would be a fantastic addition to this team. Especially for a team like us that is built around speed.

Have you seen Ivan Novoseltsev wheels. He's our first 50 goal scorer

You are so wrong... TBH, I thought the exact same thing, Horton type that is... Until I saw him at the World Juniors. This kid is legit, IMO, he is the best player to come out of the draft since Ovy.. I think he's better then Tavares, Stamkos, Kane, Johnson.... Only thing in common with Horton he has is a sick shot and a big body, but he uses his body well, plays solid 2-way hockey and has just unreal offensive instincts. I am really interested to see how he develops and I pray he ends up in Edmonton or something, please please please not Carolina.

And...we're not gonna get him!

The team is trapping, Vokoun's hot, we're steadily getting points. There's no way this Florida team is going to be allowed to sink to the level that we can obtain Hall. Sorry, but that's probably true.

Well Hall would be great for this team and I sure hope he doesn't end up with Carolina where we have to face him 6 times a year.

Is Horton going to be placed on IR? I have him on my fantasy team and need to make a decision if he isn't.

Thanks in advance

If that is the case then you can count on us not getting the #1 pick

I see us ending up with a pick around 10-14

With being out 4-6 weeks and expected to miss about 10 games before the Olympic Break, yeah I can't see why they wouldn't.

Will Horton Go on IR?

Hey Panthers fans,

Sorry about the loss of Horton. He's been a beast for me in my pool ever since picking him up off free agent back in November. Seeing as how the Cats are only a couple points out of a playoff spot, I really hope that some guys can step up while he's out.

Anyway, I was wondering if you guys have read anything about him being put on the IR? I badly need him to get IR status so that I can pickup someone while he's out since it's quite a while. Usually a 4-6 week injury would absolutely get IR status so I don't see why this would be any different.
Any reasons why the Panthers wouldn't do this?

Any info on this would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Oh my bad, I actually didn't see that, maybe didn't look far enough.

This can be moved.

Do you have an answer though?

Are you using yahoo? He isn't even listed as injured for me. I have Holmstrom on my team and he's been DTD for like 2 months now.

Yup, Yahoo. I don't blame them though cause they can only add a player to IR once he's been put there by his team.

He's been one of my top players the last couple months and I NEED to replace him. Come on Panthers!

He's not going to go on IR, they're looking for him to only be 4 maybe 6 weeks, 2 1/2 of which fall in the Olympic break. Further, in those 4 weeks, they'll only play another 9 games, 8 after tonight. Whether he'll be back after the break or not remains to be seen, but they believe he can be, so there's no need to stick him on IR, I'd imagine.

Players go on the IR for missing two weeks and 5-6 games, how the hell can they not throw Horton on the IR for missing 4-6 weeks!?!? That's a long time and makes no sense at all.

So now the question is if this is true, do I drop him or hold on to him?

Hold on to him, I highly doubt you have anything great in free agency.
4-6 weeks is basically only a couple of weeks because of the Olympic Break.
