David Backes and Carlo Colaiacovo both expected to miss tonight’s game.
Though I am not sure where they are getting their info.

Quote:
The Blues will be without forward David Backes and defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo tonight against Anaheim.

Backes will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury. Backes suffered an initial injury last Monday against Columbus during a corner battle with Antoine Vermette. He played Wednesday in Montreal, but got banged up there as well. He was out Thursday against Ottawa and didn’t practice today.

Asked if Backes’ injury happened on a specific play, or if it’s an injury that’s been lingering, Blues coach Davis Payne said: “It was a little bit of both. A little bit of wear and tear (too).”

Colaiacovo left in the middle of Thursday’s game at Ottawa, playing just over 10 minutes. He also didn’t practice today.

“Lower body . . . day to day,” Payne said this morning.

The lines have changed for tonight’s game.

Paul Kariya-T.J. Oshie-Brad Boyes
Andy McDonald-Keith Tkachuk-David Perron
Alex Steen-Jay McClement-B.J. Crombeen
Brad Winchester-Patrik Berglund-Cam Janssen
thats good enough confirmation for me but that top line scares the crap out of me. I don't see it making it through the first half of the 1st period. I don't see how Oshie can play human wrecking ball and a line with both Boyes and Kariya the corners are going to be easy for the Ducks to win.

I am worried about the top line for the same reasons. I would rather see Boyes at center and even that would be ugly IMO.

I hate the idea of putting TJ Oshie at center. Putting too much responsibility on him playing a two way game at center wont allow him to play his game.

I agree with this on paper, but the line also looked pretty good out there at the end of last game. I'm willing to withhold judgment until I see them play.

Berglund on the 4th line is interesting. I really liked the idea of Boyes playing there. I guess either he's going to come to life now, or be worthless all year (funny to say about a guy leading in points).

I just think the team misses Backes too much. I'm worried about this game tonight, but maybe they'll finally take some energy from playing at home. If not, it could be ugly. They need 2 points outright tonight.

Negating whatever would come back in trade, I hope this game highlights why this team can't and won't move Backes.

Boyes +/- is very much improved the last few games, I don't get to watch many of the games but I am hoping his "all around" game has improved enough to get him off of the 4th line.

With Janssen in the lineup, somebodies going to be playing double duty on the 4th anyways? I hope Bergy can improve his 2-way game on the 4th as well.

I think its a good idea to play Oshie at center.

I think you guys have a valid point, but at the same time.. Oshie was able to play his game when at ND playing center.

Oshie is one of our best defensive responsible players anyway. The man back checks like crazy even playing wing. I don't feel the added responsibility will be a problem.

I also like the idea of shaking things up and showing our good players they can be rewarded for hard work.

I've got a good feeling about this. I however have no positive feelings about Kariya in any way. People try to say his game has improved over the last 5 games. Bull ****. Hes the fastest skating BUM, in the league. I'd rather have AMac on that line.

What is up with the GDT's here lately? Is everyone alive? Mason is seeing the puck really well tonight.

Sydor and Pk don't look bad this game either.

It has been dead here all year. The tv contract issue can't be helping.

There are never many streams for Blues games either. I had found one for tonight's game, but it stopped working early in the 2nd period.

Remember last year when we were the team that was making the surge to come back in the third period? WTF happened to that team?

And Im convinced Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry are the two best conditioned players in the league. Did they leave the ice in the 3rd?
