That's a blast from the past.

And it seems Jones = Modry to some here. Just what I once thought. Double that pain after having to have watched Modry and Jones play on the same team at the same time

When Jones is on his game, he's really, really good. Better than Modry ever was.

The problem is consistency, and it's a big problem. He's on his game to the best of his ability about 20% of the time. That makes him a high-end two way defenseman. The rest of the time he's fairly pedestrian or worse. If he's playing 20 minutes a night, then his game is razor sharp for only four of them. Not good enough. This team isn't good enough to make up for the mistakes going on the other 80% of the time.

Modry was just always highly average. A problem he had too is he thought the game better than his body would actually let him play it. Modry is a bright guy with good hockey IQ, but he didn't have the physical tools to try and play the game he was thinking, if that makes sense.

Jones is a better locker room guy than Modry too. Not that Modry is bad, but Jones is a better rahrah guy for this younger team. He'd wear an A if he could be consistent with his play.

IMO Jones is still getting over his concussion. Sometimes, even though you pass the tests, it still takes time.

I believe the only time JJ's plus minus went down was when he was playing with Jones, strange as it may seem.

Ever since Simmonds was promoted he's been gangbusters. 5 games, 2G/4A, he tooled Getzlaf in that fight...his best games of the year, a step above his usual consistency. I'm starting to wonder just exactly what his ceiling is.

If you still have the game recorded (particularly the HD version since some of it would be cut off in SD), have a slow-mo look at the Kings bench right after Harrold scores to tie the game. Sean O'Donnell gave Moller a face-full of smelly glove during the celebration. Moller's look was priceless.

Simmonds and Richardson have been great. Very gritty performances.
Great game for Kopitar. It was good to see him get going!! Such an important win for the Kings.

I thought we weren't interested in Laraque

As for Jones, I stopped calling him Modry after that -4 against St. Louis. I was the self-appointed CFO of the "Modry Sucks" club but I can't disparage the Modry name by implying he is as bad at defense as Jones.

Great game yes!

This has nothing to do with the game played yesterday.

I just want The Kings to stay on course and not loose their concentration.

...but most important don't underestimate those teams further down the standings such as Toronto.

Oh that sounds amazing. I don't have HD. It would be awesome if someone could post it on youtube!

Both Modry and Stumpel were fine players, but they were ripped on by an extremely uninformed portion of the fan base.
