I gotta say... DenverBoone, you just went up in my books. I would for sure, thought you would have said "Hell yea he should. He would be their best defenseman".

But you didnt and I thank you for that

I've seen comments in the paper by Burke and Wilson and they have mentioned 2 or 3 names as replacements but Carle wasn't one of them.

I hope he doesn't. We're already losing 4 of our current top 6 to the Olympics. Let Carle and Coburn rest.

Not that there is any shot of Coburn going.

Carle should at least get a look, but I agree he shouldn't be going.

Matt Greene will absolutely get a look if he's got tested. If the drug testing wasn't the issue, Andy Greene would be my pick if he wouldn't have been named to the team already.

Was he invited to camp? Because burke will only pick people invited to camp

I don't remember if Matt Greene was, I'd have to think he was. Andy Greene was not because I know he didn't get drug tested and thus is ineligible.

Carle is having a nice season...on pace for close to 40 points I believe...assuming he picks it up.

Okay, nevermind. He sucks.

Matt Greene wasn't at their camp, but Carle wasn't either but he's on the 'list of alternates'

I'd probably take Scuderi then

Scuderi is so overrated . . . he makes that one lucky play in the Cup Finals and all of a sudden he is a top 5 shut-down D man.

Well when you're the shutdown defenseman for the Stanley Cup Champions your resume is boosted.

I really don't know much about Martin though I guess I should since he's in our division, but isn't he more defensively responsible than Carle? I'd think USA Hockey would want to replace Martin with someone who brought the same or as similar as possible set of skills to the team. I don't know who that would be but I'm guessing it isn't Carle. On the other hand it would be cool if he was on the team. If he does make it though that's 4 of our regular defense men and one 7/8 all playing in the Olympics.

Martin and Carle play a similar style. Martin is a bit more defensively responsible, but what do you expect from a D man on the Devils?
