This team-if you want to call them that, is too weird for me to get emotionally involved anymore.
I don't think they like each other. Which explains why they don't stick up for each other. The Montreal game at home when they did was nothing more then an aberration.
This group of players just don't gel and every night they prove it to us.
I've never seen a team not ever take on their coach/manager personality. Too many times this year Tortorella seems like he's the only one with fire and that cares. This has not translated to the players.
You would have thought we had a robot as HC.

You nailed it, this is why I would rather watch kids play than over priced weenies who do jack **** and go through the motions night in and night out, players that need to earn a spot rather than just expecting it...............Lgr

I've noticed this too.
I've said it a million times I'll say it again, Drury is not a good captain for Tortorella.
Yep, just when you start to feel like they're making something out of the season, they go on a losing streak, and just when you think they should start to fold, they rip off a few wins. We have an indecisive team.
True. Why? Managing the temperament of a team is an art -- one Tortorella has not mastered, imo.
To be honest I'm not that excited, nor am I expecting much from this team. We're playing the worst team in the league so expect a lot of complacency, and a "we got this in the bag" attitude. 3-1 Ranger loss.

Hey! Not so fast!!! The Oilers are in 30th. We are in 29th. See, you don't have a chance!

Couldn't agree more, I really have no personal connection left with this current group of players and only watch out of curiosity.
The Rangers have usually managed to win these "must win" games so far this reason (remember the "lose and Sather is gone" Islanders game?)
The kind of game where it's the only thing standing between them and total rock bottom.
Considering how flat out bad Carolina is, urgency alone should be enough to win this one for the Rangers.
Not that urgency is ever a given with this team, however....
