OK so everyone can pick a second team to control. The only thing is that you can not make trades between the two teams that you control. Who wants a second team and what team would you like?

I will pick a second team but I will wait til their are just a handful of teams left.

Seriously, I think it should be considered to market to solid posters on other boards. It takes away from it if half the teams can't deal with another team. If that doesn't work, then yeah it may make sense.

Bold indicates a player off the market (i.e. NTC or I won't part with them). I am very willing to hear offers from teams regarding McCabe and Vokoun; the Panther organization is looking to get younger so we are also looking for draft picks and/or prospects that will soon make an impact in the NHL.

Bold : Untouchable or not looking to trade. You can add to that my 2010 1st round pick and my top prospects.

I am going for a full rebuild and elite players like Martin Havlat, Brent Burns, Nick Schultz and Niklas Backstrom are all on the trade block. However, don't ask unless you are ready to pay the price.

There are other valuable players available (i.e. players not in bold).

Send your offers and inquiries!

The Minnesota Wild are exploring their trade options. Names like Niklas Backstrom, Brent Burns and Martin Havlat are currently being discussed. We may not be that far from an agreement so if you are interested, you should send your offers as soon as possible.

Depending of the return for those players, Nick Schultz could be taken off the trade block. One way or another, it would require some kind of overpayment to get him.

A lot of other players are on the block (see my other post).

BREAKING NEWS

Souces tell TSN that a trade that would send Niklas Backstrom and Brent Burns to an Eastern Conference contender is imminent. When asked about the definition of the word imminent, Bob McKenzie refused to comment ().

The deal would be a blockbuster with other key players involved. We contacted an NHL executive to have his comments and he said : "Eklund didn't report it so it might very well be true."

The deal is not completed so you still have the time to send your offers.

Bob McKenzie via twitter - Niklas Backstrom and Brent Burns have been traded to an Eastern Conference team but the deal will be officially announced only in the next few days.

It is believed that another roster player from Minnesota will leave in that trade. As for the return, we don't have the names at the moment but multiple assets are involved. It is rumoured that the Wild would received a young top forward, a top prospect defenseman, a roster defenseman, a backup goaltender, along with a 2010 1st round pick.

Stay tuned...

No... but I can imagine everything of it!

I will show Burke my multiple 1st round picks and he will get crazy... then, he will ask me if I would trade one of my 1st for Jeff Finger... before I have the time to laugh at him, Sutter will arrive and ask Burke to wait... he will offer him Iginla for Finger!

UPDATE

Martin Havlat is still on the trade block. Discussions are going well with another Western conference team and he could be dealt pretty soon unless another team jumps in the sweeptakes.

Nick Schultz will likely stay with the team unless I get a major overpayment. Andrew Brunette is also expected to be with the team after the trade deadline but we will listen to offers.

Eric Belanger, Owen Nolan and Anti Miettinen are all available.

One of Kim Johnsson or Greg Zanon will be traded. I might decide to keep Johnsson and try to re-sign him in the offseason (I know we are not doing the offseason) but if I get a great offer, he will be traded. Zanon would be a nice pickup for a playoffs team.

Depending of other moves, Marek Zidlicky could also be available. Once again, he would be a great fit on many teams.

Other players could also be moved. Right now, I'm looking to acquire a young top 4 defenseman (RH if possible) and I'm definitely ready to pay the price.

Notes:

At this time, Chicago believes that we have a dynamic team with much potential, now and in the near future. That said, we are still willing to make deals prior to this seasons trade deadline. With such a young team, to ensure longevity it is crucial to ensure we are able to hang on to the keystones of our franchise, maintain our team's chemistry, while, of course, remaining under the set NHL salary cap.

Chicago is willing to entertain deals for just about any of our assets at this time. Feel free to send any offers.

- GM Chuck T.

TRADES

The Minnesota Wild have made two trades.

In a blockbuster trade, we have sent goaltender Nicklas Backstrom, defenseman Brent Burns and forward Chuck Kobasew to the Washington Capitals for forward Alexander Semin, defensemen John Carlson and Shaone Morrison, goaltender Jose Theodore, along with Washington 2010 1st round pick.

It was hard to let two elite players leave in the same trade but we feel that we got a huge return for our future. Alexander Semin is already a proven goalscorer and he will only get better. John Carlson is a major piece in the deal since we think that he will become an elite top pairing defenseman in the NHL. He will play in Minnesota for the rest of the season, on a pairing with veteran Nick Schultz. We also got a first rounder in that deal, along with a good defenseman and a solid backup goalie. We wish Backstrom, Burns and Kobasew the best of luck in Washington. We believe that the Capitals are now the most serious contender in the NHL.

In our other trade, we have sent defenseman Greg Zanon and forward Anti Miettinen to the Florida Panthers for defenseman Keith Ballard and Florida 2010 fifth round pick.

We are happy to bring in a hometown boy. Ballard is a young veteran and we think that he can bring a lot to our team.

Actual roster :

Semin-Koivu-Havlat
Brunette-Brodziak-Latendresse
Clutterbuck-Belanger-Nolan
Boogaard-Sheppard-Ebbett

Ballard-Johnsson
Schultz-Carlson
Morrisonn-Zidlicky

Harding
Theodore

Martin Havlat is still on the trade block but he won't come cheap. We are looking to get a younger RW as part of the deal.

Kim Johnsson and Marek Zidlicky are now officially available. However, we are looking to acquire a young top 4 defenseman (or who can play on the right side), and a young bottom pairing defenseman with top 4 potential either in a deal for Johnsson and Zidlicky or a separate deal.

Eric Belanger and Owen Nolan are available for playoffs team.

I guess that this means that from now on, trades in real life don't apply to this game?

Elliotte Friedman via twitter - There are rumblings right now that the Minnesota Wild have traded forward Eric Belanger and a solid D prospect to the Vancouver Canucks for a defenseman (Kevin Bieksa?) and a pick. More details to come but the Wild were very busy in the last few days if true.

On an interview with "Saturday SportsTalk" on AM 1500 KSTP out of Minneapolis/St. Paul this morning, Florida's GM commented that "Although it was hard to let go of such a talented player in Keith, we are very pleased with the return on our investment. Greg is a veteran defenseman who can help improve and mentor our young defensive core, while Anti's acquisiton gives the offense a much needed shake up as we have been sliding as of late." As for further acquisions, he stated that "There would be more to come. While we are very much in the running for a playoff spot this season, our secondary goal is that in the next several seasons to give Washington a run for their money as both Southeast Division and Eastern Conference contenders."

Anything that happens now in real life have no effect on this game at all.
