Confirmed.

Marty has been a heart and soul player in Tampa. However, with the cap coming down, we have decided to go with our youth. We feel Fehr is rounding into a top 6 power forward and Osala is a speedster, the 2nd is something we need to replenish our prospect pool

PHOENIX COYOTES

Are looking to make a huge push both at the deadline and in the off-season. Only Shane Doan, Martin Hanzal, Keith Yandle, and Zbynek Michalek are untouchable.
Looking to add:
--A #1 center
--An elite scoring winger
--A depth defenseman

We have two 1sts in the upcoming draft (ours and Calgary's), as well as a 2nd. Prospects we'll move include: Turris, Boedker, Tikhonov, MacLean, Ahnelov, Ross, Porter and Summers.

Darcy Tucker, Ryan O'Reilly, Ryan Stoa, Brett Clark, Ruslan Salei, and Ryan Wilson are all on the trading block...PM me if you are interested in those players.

Wolski, Duchene, Stastny, Anderson are the only untouchables.

Devils acquire Belanger

After acquiring Scott Niedermayer and Saku Koivu from Anaheim, the Devils further solidified their center position with the acquisition of center Eric Belanger from the Minnesota Wild for their third round pick in 2010. Belanger will push Dainius Zubrus back to wing and will be New Jersey's third line center.

The Devils have assembled the following lineup:

Zach PariseTravis ZajacJamie Langenbrunner
Patrik EliasSaku KoivuBrian Rolston
Dainius ZubrusEric BelangerDavid Clarkson
Jay PandolfoRob NiedermayerDean McAmmond

Scott NiedermayerPaul Martin
Bryce SalvadorAndy Greene
Colin WhiteJohnny Oduya

Martin Brodeur
Yann Danis

Rookie Vladimir Zharkov has been returned to Lowell to make room on the roster.

With the additions of centers Saku Koivu and Eric Belanger, as well as the return of center Dainius Zubrus and wing David Clarkson, the Devils feel their forward corps is strongly improved going into the playoffs. The additions of New Jersey's number one defenseman, Paul Martin, and the return of former Devils superstar Scott Niedermayer, adds offensive punch and defensive acumen. New Jersey is extremely confident going forward.

San Jose is nearing a deal that will give them arguably the best defense in the league. Awaiting league approval.

San Jose is looking for bottom 6 depth.

Tampa Bay Lightning have made a deal moving

Nittymaki + 2010 4th rd pick to Chicago for

Cristobal Huet+Akim Aliu+2010 2nd (Flames)

We feel this improves us in goal, deepens our prospect pool and the 2nd always helps us with the rebuild.

2 trades to announce

To Hawks
G Antero Nittymaki
2010 4th rd pick

To Lightning
G Cristobal Huet
RW Akim Aliu
2010 2nd (Flames)

#2

To Hawks
D Luca Sbisa
RW Kyle Palmieri

To Ducks
D Cam Barker

With the coming cap troubles and Huet's streaky play we needed a new look in net. Nittymaki is playing well this year and his play in 2006 olympics makes us confident he is the type of pressure goalie we can depend on to partner with Niemi to lead us to the Stanley cup.

We loved Akim but he was not part of our longterm plans. He has matured alot this past season. Him and Downie have put there differences aside according to many , So TB now has 2 of the most talented tough guys in NHL for years to come. Flames 2nd should be good.

Barker is not a fit for Hawks. We get a young dman who will be part of our team next season and a RW who has alot of potential

Wow, that second deal is pure theft for Chicago. I'd argue that Sbisa is better than Barker now.

I think the first deal is bad for the Blackhawks though, so I guess it evens out.

To Antoinne Vermette

To Viktor Tikhonov, 1st 2010 (Calgary)

Coyotes are thrilled to welcome Antoinne to our top-six as we push for the playoffs. We set out to land a solid two-way center who is a face-off beast with some offensive upside, and that is exactly what we are getting in Antoinne.

We paid a steep price but felt that having two 1st round picks in this year's draft we could afford to move one of them. And in Tiki the Jackets are getting a young-man who has the potential to be a solid two-way top-six forward in this league some day.

Thats a win-win. Phoenix gives up a bit much IMO, but if I were to pick a player that fits their style he'd be near the top.

The Minnesota Wild will be looking to rebuild the team.

Mikko Koivu and Niklas Backstrom will require a kings ransom.

The Wild will entertain offers for Andrew Brunette, Owen Nolan, Cal Clutterbuck, Kim Johnsson & Marek Zidlicky.

The Wild are looking for young roster players & picks.

To "
Defenseman Jan Hejda
Defenseman Fedor Tyutin

To :
Defenseman Kent Huskins
Center Torrey Mitchell
Left Wing Jody Shelly
San Jose's 2010 1st round pick
Buffalo's 2010 2nd round pick
Defensive prospect Mike Moore.

With the inevitable cap drop, we felt contracts needed to play a major role in any of our acquisitions. We dropped what I believe were our two worst contracts, even if the players (yes, even Huskins) were living up to them. It hurts to give up the picks and Mitchell, but organizational depth should cover us pretty well.

We love the two defensemen we acquired. Fedor Tyutin is as solid a #2 as they come and has effectively held the number 1 spot in Columbus the past two years. He will benefit immensely from playing behind an elite offensive d-man in Dan Boyle and will likely be paired with former Norris trophy winner, Rob Blake. Having a second power play quarterback will be a huge advantage for a team that relies on too few players. In addition, the acquisition of Fedor takes some of the offensive pressure off Blake and Vlasic, and allows Jason Demers to further develop.

In addition, we feel Jan Hejda is among the best defensive d-men in the league and he will boost an already elite penalty kill, while also being a major upgrade on Huskins at even strength.

With these acquisitions we have a top 5 d-man, another top pairing guy, and four others (Murray, Blake, Vlasic, and Hejda) who would be #3 or #4 on almost every team in the league. More importantly, they all fill different roles, giving us excellent personal depending on the situation.

We love that we have acquired the equivalent of an excellent second pairing for 4.8 million, that is a steal.

These acquisitions put the team into the bonus cushion, but Blake and McGinn aren't touching their bonuses, and I doubt Seto will either.

With the moves being made by other contenders in the division, LA feels the need to make a splash very soon too. Still searching for top-4 defenceman, top-6 center, bottom-6 checker(s)/role player(s). We may look to get something done tonight.

:thrashers Update

Ilya Kovalchuk - 2 offers, 1 really strong offer, will accept by tonight or tomorrow unless I get a really good offer.

Pavel Kubina - 1 team has showed a fair bit of interest, get your offers in for this top 4 defensemen. Would prefer a contender.

Maxim Afinogenov - A solid top 6 winger, would help any team looking for a solid run in the playoffs.

Slava Kozlov - Won't take much, can still play top 6.

Ron Hainsey - Any team looking to pick up a top 4 defensemen and is willing to take on a bit of salary to gain a couple prospects/assets.

Nikolai Antropov - Most likely won't be moved, but could be for the right offer.

We have a bit of cap space in Atlanta, and would be willing to take on some salary, if the deal is obviously in our favour.
