Wait, Glen Sather is the Rex Ryan Kissing Suzy Kolber sketch? Actually, that would be awesome.

*team stares blankly then goes back to rummaging around their lockers, box of baby biscuits falls out of Reddens locker*

"But several players said Sather told the team he believed in them and that they should stick together."

And this is exactly why Glen Sather should be fired

Interview requests of Sather are constantly made. They are never allowed. He hasn't spoken to the media since the summer.

Let me also add that he's at most games -- not every one, but he's certainly at MSG for almost every game the team plays. It's not news that he was IN the building, just that he spoke to the team.

Yeah, but with the way this team is built, we don't even stand a chance to compete for the cup.

this year. can we see what the guy does with the deadline before we ask for his head? pre-lockout, yes...he sucked.
but since then, we've had a couple of teams that had a puncher's chance. last year...not so much. this year...definitely not.

but we have the goalie, we have the elite sniper and we have some good youth coming up. why do you want him gone? because he's a little smug? because he doesn't give interviews? this club is going to be ready to compete for real in about 3 years...it would've been sooner, but slats decided to go with the rebuild while still remaining competetitive. fine...that's what you do in new york...you have to matter.

if he goes with the band-aids now, i'll jump on the fire him wagon, but remember....this is the same guy who dealt leetch....he's not above a fire sale

This club shouldn't be signing Kotalik/Redden or Drury to contracts they can't live up too. What happens this year if Kovy is locked up by July 1st? Sather will just throw money at the next best FA who won't live up to his contract.

At least give us some hockey cliches or some BS... he shows no effort, just like his hockey team.
I find it disrespectful to Andrew Groos to give such a ******* answer to a pertinent question.

Did he or we Ranger fans expect anything else ? NO.

Glen Sather's and his whole tenure here should be simply titled "Impotence with Arrogance"

I remember hearing that Jimmy boy Dolan asked John Davidson who he would recommend for the GMs job after Neil Smith got the can .

JD was unwavering with his man-love for Slats.

Thanks John.

You know what really ticks me off, if you read further down on Gross's page it says this:

"He also alluded to things “swirling” around the team and warned teammates not to point fingers at each other. Very cryptic stuff. Here’s a guess: Tortorella didn’t like Sean Avery’s “no compete” comment following Saturday’s 6-0 loss at Montreal"

Oh piss off, now Avery is at fault for calling out this bunch of no show pansies, get real! In my opinion, he didn't go far enough!

Boyle on Sather's appearance

Quote:
“He obviously cares, too,” Brian Boyle said. “It’s good to hear from him. He believes in us. He told us we’ve got to stick together and believe in ourselves. We’ve got a good team, we’ve showed that before. We’ve got to be good teammates and lift each other up.”
http://www.northjersey.com/sports/pr...ight_game.html

Oh course Sather cares. He put this group together. He can't blame Neil Smith anymore. Sather brought in Tortorella to salvage his legacy in New York. Next step is stepping aside and giving the reigns to Messier.

Rangers get outmuscled and outworkred in Philly. Asham runs Henrik (again) and Gabby gets punched in the left ear so many times Torts had to put him on the left wing so he can hear his teamates.

Then......

Outscored 17-3 in the next 3 games.

Two of the games were at home. Two of the teams are out of the playoff picture.

This team must make a stand on this roadtrip. I don't see it.

There is no way they beat Phoenix. I just can't see it. The game after, maybe. But Phoenix will stifle them.

Someone posted this on another site and I thought it was pretty good

Sather's Pep Talk - "I’m hamstrung by my own stupidity and this roster that can’t be fixed because of the toxic trio I signed to absurd contracts (Redden, Drury, Rozsival)...please sneak into the playoffs as an 8th seed and get me my 2 home playoff gates, then Dolan will never notice a thing, and I will continue to not have to answer to anyone…thank you"

Sather showed up to the locker room with a boom box and played the same song at the end of Karate Kid

"YOU'RE THE BEST AROUND, NOTHINGS EVER GONNA KEEP YOU DOWN, YOU'RE THE BEST AROUND"

Sad...
