Bah sorry didn't realize Cam was born in December so he should be AHL eligible next year. Here is a thread with the rules;

I've been thinking of the deadline for a few days now and I think this Is the first year I have no idea what our gm is going to do. Since the lockout it's been pretty obvious what the type of moves were going to be. This year? I'm stumped for some reason. It kind of scares me...

Depending on the cost the next upgrade would prob be Fowler's defensive partner. If Lapierre can stabilize the 3rd line there isn't much left to upgrade for now unless you want another wing to really roll 3 scoring lines.

The thing is there isn't alot out there unless Chris Phillips or someone becomes available. I think its just as likely we send out one of our 8 dmen at the deadline as bring someone in though.

Anaheim Ducks possible trade options

If I'm Bob Murray, these are the 5 players on my trading block:

1.Paul Mara
2.Andy Sutton
3.Possibly Lappierre Lappierre(yes, i do realize we just aquired him so dont reply about him)
4.Aaron Voros
5.Strongly consider Curtis MacHelhinney or Dan Sexton for a trading block spot

Trade props:

Anaheim: Paul Mara and a 2012 1st round pick and 2011 2nd rounder
for
Vancouver: Christian Ehrhoff and a 1st round pick

Anaheim: Dan Sexton and Kyle Palmieri and 2011 1st rounder and 2010 1st rounder
for
Washington: Alex Semin and possibly Marcus Johansson. And if not Johansson than Alex Semin and Mathieu Perrault
Give me feedback on what you guys think of this!

Fowler or Etem?

Also Vancouver would have no interest in that at all.
They're looking to compete now and Mara is a terrible downgrade from Ehroff. If there's a deal with Vancouver, it's likely going to held relieve their cap crunch and be a guy like Bieksa.

My main question with the Washington one is what happens after this season when Semin is a free agent? He's making 6million this year. Anaheim, quite frankly, can't afford to resign him and it would be completely ridiculous to send young assets and picks away for a rental when the Ducks aren't even assuredly in the playoffs, let alone competitors.

Johansson would be amazing to have but the Caps are really high on him. They really need a future 2nd line centre like the Ducks too.

My point was that you said 2010 first rounder and that draft has already happened. Anaheim selected Fowler and Etem.

Both are horrible imo, Ehrhoff won't be anywhere near as big of an upgrade as you think. There is no reason to split up Vis-Lydman, and Ehrhoff isn't the type that Fowler plays well with. So you either put Fowler on a pairing that doesn't play to his potential or put the guy you just gave a 1st and 2nd for on the 3rd pairing.

The 2nd one your betting the farm on the fact that Semin will fit in on the top line with Getz and Perry, and that we will be able to resign him. Besides the fact that Semin will want 6+ mill and will hinder resigning Getz/Perry in a few years. You also force either Ryan or Semin to the 3rd line since the Masterson line has chemistry that RC doesn't want to break up. At the same time your giving up the only real top 6 wing prospect we have.

The simple fact is that neither of these would make us a shoe in for the playoffs and would cost quite a bit. They also both have a very real possibility of walking away at the end of the year leaving us in a lurch going forward. The only things we should be looking for is a good 2nd pair partner for Fowler, the other big thing (the 3rd line) has to wait till we see how Lapierre works out.

LOL cant tell if this is real or fake

The only thing Murray should be doing right now is looking to add a big mean physical TOP 4 Dman to play with Fowler ie: Bieska,Komisarek etc

First thing: welcome to the boards.

Second: you are putting too much value on Duck players or undervaluing players from other teams. I really don't see how your proposals help the teams you are offering to trade with, there is no way Vancouver or Washington consider those kind of trades. Simply throwing draft picks into your proposals don't balance a trade. I suggest you look at how a trade can benefit both sides before proposing a trade on these boards.

Agreed. If we did that and dumped our overstock of crappy D than we are looking pretty good. Well, it would help us play a lot better imo.

I personally wouldnt trade Sutton now while his stock is at its lowest. At this point we'd have to take salary back in an equally underachieving player, and while that doesnt seem bad now, I'd rather wait longer than 25 games to see if Sutton is going to fit.

He has another year left on his deal so no one would likely take him.

I think it's safe to say none of those trades will happen.

If we do trade, it will be for a #4 dman.

bad trades imo.. i wouldnt do any

alex semin.. hmm bolt at UFA? he will if he comes here... and even if he doesnt it'll be because we paid him a lot and i dont want any forward making more than getzlaf right now.. especially when semin cant dominate to the ability that getzlaf can..

ehroff while a great defenseman isnt the type of defenseman we need.. we need another solid guy to be good with fowler.. right now vis/lydman are great, and fowler/solid d-man can be another solid pairing for us.. plus it would allow fowler to roam a bit more..
